To be disappointed that my FB friend wants to flog me stuff

So I have a FB friend. Worked with her a long time ago, went on a group holiday before DCs arrived. She's a nice person, it's good to see pictures of her and her DCs.

She's recently become a sales person for one of these dubious home businesses. I was invited to a private group which I've ignored and various threads that again I have ignored.

So just now I've been messaged by her trying to convince me that I'd like to become a seller of this stuff as well.

AIBU to actually feel quite upset that the first/only message she has ever sent me - we're acquaintances not close pals - is to try to get me to be a rep. Hilariously at the end she's tagged on a general what are you up to for your hols.

Should I just ignore it or respond?

Just respond "Not my thing, but best of luck with it".

She'll try again in a few months time.

The sad thing about those schemes is that you're under so much pressure you end up messaging absolutely everyone on your Friends list. You're cetainly not the only one to have the hump with her today if that's any consolation. She'll be getting a lot of polite thanks but no thanks answers today.

I wouldn't be upset. She is probably desperate. Just say "no thank you! Best of luck!"

I just had a similar message from someone I haven't spoken to for about 6 years. They seem very desperate.

"Upset" seems a bit dramatic. I get the impression you haven't seen her in years, so she's more of an acquaintance than a friend, no?

The fact that these products are shite, aside for a moment..... Online marketing is what she does. She'll have sent this message to all of her FB friends, pyramid selling is her occupation. I don't see what you're taking it so personally?

I'll bet it's that Forever or Momentis. Steer clear because no one makes money out of that shit as it's all pyramid selling.

My friend got into forever a few years ago and she's been told hundreds of times that it's a pyramid scheme company but she's that sucked in that she believes everything they tell her. I've given up trying to reason with her

I'm disappointed as I thought I was an acquaintance/friend not a potential customer. Also I thought she was quite intelligent and how can it be anything other than blatantly insulting to message someone you haven't spoken to for years to try to get their money and then tack on some false conversation.

But that's fine. Am over it.
