AIBU as a party leader candidate to want to be handed the traditional poisoned chalice rather than this strange new variant the poison chalice? What is the world of politics coming to?

Is it a chalice MADE of poison?

Like those nesquik straws?

So no matter what liquid you put in it, when you drink you get poison.

Don't know about Nesquik straws but will definitely avoid them, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure that if Shakespeare had heard of them he would have included a mention in Macbeth along with the original poisoned chalice.
