How do I stop these cold calls? - "Energy assessment"

Every day. Several times a day. On the landline.

Recorded voice says they are calling about a free energy assessment, government scheme, blah blah, "as you're a homeowner".

I'm not a homeowner. I rent, and I got this line put in.

At the end it says "press nine to stop these calls". Nope, doesn't work.

Is it a scam? How do I get them to fuck off? I'm signed up to the telephone preference service.

forward the number to the TPS, speaking to a human I always say I am TPS registered and should not be getting these calls please take me off your database or I will report you seems to have cut nearly all mine down. just the odd one direct dialling automated messages which I hang up on.

You cant forward the numbers to tps as they spoof the numbers and it is different each time.
Had another call today, came up as another local number but they all have midlands accents.

oh bugger bruffin what a pain, so is there no easy way to report to tps then? seems a bit pointless if it's not 'policed' in any way.
