I have an illogical fear of large empty swimming pools. It's totally irrational but I'd be too frightened to look at one let alone stand in it.

Small children with over full nappies. Especially at this time of year, there's always one at playgroup with a sopping wet nappy hanging out of the leg of their shorts and it properly freaks me out.

krazipan · 30/06/2016 11:35

I still check under the bed before I get in Lou! Blush

Ratbagcatbag · 30/06/2016 11:36

I have tripophobia which seems to really common.

More weirdly is stickers. I bloody hate them. Made dh do any sticker books with dd. I can't buy fruit that has a sticker on it.

Maybenot321 · 30/06/2016 11:37

Moths with big (almost human) bodies.

Orwellschild · 30/06/2016 11:38

Wind turbines. I cannot stand them. Freak me right out.

mogloveseggs · 30/06/2016 11:38

Another one with a fear of boats out of water. Exh dragged me to see the one at Blackpool and it was just so awful. I just get a feeling of dread. It's so sinister to me.

PaulineFowlersGrowler · 30/06/2016 11:38

Pruney hands and feet. I keep them out of the water when I am in the bath. If my hands are pruney (from bathing kids or swimming etc) i splay my fingers and won't touch anything until they are back to normal. My ultimate fear is my pruney hands touching somebody else's pruney hands.

Orwellschild · 30/06/2016 11:40

Mcchicken high five!

MrsWorryWart · 30/06/2016 11:42

Oh, and an empty dishwasher. When something falls to the base and I have to pick it up I am convinced something will come up out of the filter thing.......shudders !!

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 30/06/2016 11:42

I'm scared of most things that are bigger than they should be.

^yes to this. Anything large is scary.

Reservoirs, wind farm windmills, huge pylons, aerial masts, big statues.

However I occasionally google images to freak myself out. I'm weird like that.

MonkeyPJs · 30/06/2016 11:43

Awning. Shudder. Always avoided walking underneath it when I can.

cupidsgame · 30/06/2016 11:43

mummytobubs wow, so pleased I'm not the only one. What is it about the empty ones I wonder. Another illogical fear I have, but very common I know, is mice. So tiny and very scared of us but if I see one I turn into a quivering wreck.

I also have a very irrational fear of my kids' eyes falling out when they take their swimming goggles off.

Things growing on buildings - like ivy covered walls. It's like the wall has a skin disease Blush i hate it so much!

Nabootique · 30/06/2016 11:48

Tomato ketchup.

ElsieMc · 30/06/2016 11:50

Not me, but my youngest dd (now in her twenties) has a terror of anyone dressed up as, for example, a bear. At weekend one was outside a shop she went in collecting for charity and I had to distract her or she would start to cry and go into meltdown. As a child, she would start to shake if she even saw someone dressed like this. No idea where it came from or if it is common.

Mcchickenbb41 · 30/06/2016 11:51

I find the ones in the sea are really scary. They are just so big yet silent Confused

Mcchickenbb41 · 30/06/2016 11:52

Sorry that was to orwellschild

TheDuchessOfArbroathsHat · 30/06/2016 11:52

Egg white - especially 'snotty' egg white. Makes me go cold. And edges of things - like the edge of a harbour or a cliff. I can't even look at pictures of edges without a cold shiver running through me.

Cocolepew · 30/06/2016 11:56

Holes.
Barnacles on whales.
The sea. Its just so big, freaks me out thinking how much water there is.

Brightnorthernlights · 30/06/2016 11:59

Velvet. The feel of its scratchy spikes. Ugh..

CoolCarrie · 30/06/2016 12:03

I cant buy any food, like veg or fruit if there are stickers on them. Bus tickets, wrists, cant wear a watch or bracelets, the loft in our house, just juck up there, and its our junk, but still!

CoolCarrie · 30/06/2016 12:04

Cant bear the feel of suede

HoggleHoggle · 30/06/2016 12:08

The front of ships. Urgh.

The thought of putting a bit of towel in my mouth.

Opening a bag of bananas in case a spider has been living in there.

MrsMarsch · 30/06/2016 12:10

Polystyrene - makes me feel ill
