Just that really, I know nothing about him but looks wise quite think he would be a good Prime Minister?

Grayling always looks half asleep.

Wonder if Crabbe can be cured of toryness? Saw him on news - it wasn't very inspiring so no doubt he'll end up being a leader one day. Justine Greening won't be very pleased with him - not that I've ever cared what Justine Greening thinks before (crazy times).

Sophie200609 · 29/06/2016 22:56

Sorry guys! I just saw him fleetingly on the news earlier! Didn't know about the homophobic shite!

Massively U!

Yes I wonder indeed, Edith. If he could be cured of Torycunteringtonness.

WordGetsAround · 30/06/2016 06:51

I don't think it's fair to call him homophobic. He has links to a charity (CARE), who came out with bullshit stuff years ago, but Stephen Crabb has said:
‘Yes, I’m a Christian – but believing in gay cure therapies is not what I believe and has never been what I believe.’
I don't like the semi-beard though.

SwedishEdith · 30/06/2016 17:43

He reminds me of Jimmy Osmond

PoundingTheStreets · 30/06/2016 18:09

I'm not convinced he believes homosexuality is something to be cured as there is no evidence that he knew the charity he supported had those reprehensible views. And back then he didn't have the political clout he has now, so didn't have a team of people checking all his associations to ensure things like this couldn't embarrass him in the future.

That said, he voted against gay marriage and is very much a traditionalist when it comes to family (maybe he feels that the best way to avoid the hardships he and his mother experienced as a single parent was for her to shut up and put up with his abusive father? Hmm). That's pretty standard for a Conservative Party MP and one reason why I wouldn't vote for him.

I don't feel that his thought processes are rational and well considered. He doesn't seem to recognise that the reason many benefit-dependent families don't pull themselves out of poverty the way his mother did is not because they are lazy but for a whole raft of other more complicated reasons. But accepting that would of course mean exposing the whole platform that his life is built on - hard work pays - as a raft of lies. Hard work does indeed pay - but only if you don't suffer any of the many other setbacks that you are actually more likely to be exposed to if you fall into that low socio-economic bracket. That's why people such as Crabb as the exceptions that prove the rule rather than something the majority could themselves achieve if only they aspired to it.

He is running on a 'little red hen' script. He wants to keep everything for himself, because he got no help.

acasualobserver · 02/07/2016 11:38

Bollocks. He was both an intern at CARE and later accommodated interns from CARE in his parliamentary office. To say that he did not know CARE's views defies belief.

MetalMidget · 02/07/2016 11:41

He worked as an intern for CARE when he was younger, so I'm a bit sceptical that he didn't know what they stood for - which as well as referring to gay and bi people as 'sexually broken' individuals who can be 'cured', also has some pretty backwards views on unmarried parents (even if they're happily co-habiting).

Add onto that his voting against equality legislation, equal marriage, and for benefit cuts... ugh. Oh, and he's a Tory. No thanks.

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 02/07/2016 11:45

Even if I just went by his looks I wouldn't go near him. Add in his horrible views and the fact that he is a tory and I actually feel physically repulsed by him.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 09/07/2016 19:18

And now he's been caught sexting a young woman in her 20s.

What a twat.

mummytobecabz · 09/07/2016 19:42

He lives near me! He is an absolute prick! Dont believe all the 'raised on a poor council estate' shite, theres nothing poor about some of the council estates around here! Our head of council was on a higher wage than the PM up until last year! And crabb pays his wife a massive wage to be his 'assistant' as well as claiming things like expenses for living in a rented flat in london! Total bollocks! He lives in a massive house 10mins from me! Grade A arsehole!

SouperSal · 10/07/2016 19:34

. Let's just say I know the guy. He is hideous.

SouperSal · 10/07/2016 19:35

You really don't understand how it works. They have to claim for a second home unless they live within 3 miles of the HoC. (I had to a large a civil servant when I worked there too.)

SouperSal · 10/07/2016 19:36

*as a l, not large.

JoffreyBaratheon · 10/07/2016 20:44

He isn't good looking either (as well as being a massive, creepy homophobe and presumably in some evangelical sect or other). Horrible, square horsey teeth and weird eyes. TBH if I was his wife I'd want a massive wage.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 10/07/2016 23:44

Don't tell us you've shagged him Sal. Grin.

SouperSal · 11/07/2016 02:59

Bleugh. Thankfully not!
