I've started reading it to my 4 year old recently and have come to realise it's just a load of waffling and rambling thoughts of an obviously high/drunk person.

I wonder if something like it, written the way it is, would get published today...I don't think it's anything special.

No wonder the film was changed so much.

(I did really enjoy LOTR though and have read it 3 times)

Kids were warned to an inch of their lives that to write an essay in GCSE and end its a dream are immediately marked down.

I hate it too. And when I gave my daughter the name every bugger said "ooh lots of Alice in Wonderland things for her then"'and I though oh shit! Hadnt occurred to me.

I watched the Disney film and as much as i liked the characters i thought it was soo boring with no actual storyline and just as i was trying to get my head around it it finished shortest film ever. Might give the book a go

Tried to show the film to aforementioned daughter and dd1 and they both wandered off after 5 minutes. Never tried again.
