To wonder why someone stole my blue wheelie bin and paper bag.

I'm fuming, the bin and that bag thing that you put papers and cardboard in has disappeared off the street. It had just been emptied, I saw it and the bag thing was dangling out of it....now it's gone. Why would you want one, isn't one enough. I think it's about £15 to replace, I can't afford it.

Who knows. Our bin was stolen once. From the side of the house and it was half full. They took it off somewhere with the rubbish in it because there was no evidence of it being dumped out anywhere around our house or in the surrounding streets because we looked for it.

Probably someone else who can't afford to replace it. We had a spate of it a couple of years ago when one particular house would put the wrong things in the recycle bin, the bin men wouldn't take it as it was contaminated so they'd just abandon it and steal someone else's. It cost me £48 to get my bin replaced. Next time I just took it back from their drive as you could still see my number on it despite their freshly painted number. Maybe have a wee look around to see if you can spot it?

At least it had definitely been emptied. We had a full paper recycling box nicked before collection - neighbour glimpsed it happen. We think it was someone looking for ID information off envelopes etc for fraud.

It probably is someone who had their bin stolen. It could so easily continue in a circle of stealing.....but it's so unfair, I refuse to steal, my bins are put out on trust that no one would want to steal one, they're not exactly attractive looking items are they.

I had both my recycling one and the general rubbish one pinched over the weekend…both bins were about half full but no sign of either of them or the contents of them…

Really wonder who took and why on earth they would want a wheelie bin...

I had a neighbour who used to steal bins. I came home once to find my bin gone (soon after moving in) I asked her if she'd seen it and she said, with no shame, that she had took it because the council had took one of her TWO bins off her She took my recycling boxes a few times. I took them back each time though and tipped out the mess in her front. She had about 6 recycling boxes and two food waste bins, she also stole someone elses bin after I took mine back

We put stickers on ours, round our way. Even if they come off, the shape is still there.

I once got mine stolen for identity theft purposes. I found out when I got a phone call from TC, because a man had tried to get a loan from my address.

our wheelie bin got damaged a few years ago so I rang the council to ask for a new one.
They turned up the next day in a huge van, packed full of bins. I made a comment about them and the guy told me that around 400 bins go missing in our city every month! Every month!! Where the hell do they go??

Someone did this with my black bin, I just waited until the bin men had collected, walked up and down the street until I found it and pinched it back ( cheeky feckers had tried to scratched off my address but you could still see it )

I've had four bins go. I've only lived here 2.5 years. There's no crime in my area other than bin theft. My current bin is painted to hell with my address, on every side.

We can report a bin stolen and a free new one comes, on the council's website. Doesn't everyone have that?

We used to, then with all the budget cuts the council started charging £25 for a new one.
