Too many pets?

Can I ask what you would consider 'too many pets' ? I am being tagged in Facebook things for crazy cat lady memes regulary ....quite often people make reference to 'ALL' my pets (said as if there are two million) so I just wondered what animals you all have and what your personal idea is of what makes too many? I'm watching animal hoarders and it got me thinking

Our old cat came from a family home - tiny little living area with three dogs, two cats and a tortoise. That was odd

We have 3 cats, all indoor cats, no smell I hope and hours of cuddles and fun.
When my dc were young we had 2 dogs, 5 cats and 2 ponies!
Too many is more than you can care for including vets bills and holiday care, walks for the dogs and safe clean housing for all.
For me a happy minimum would be two cats but dh and I fell in love so we found cat 3. They are all young at the moment, 8 months, 4 months and 4.5 months.

Six dogs (plus 8 x 1 week old puppies), 2 cats, 8 birds, 1 turtle, 12 fish, 1 rabbit, 8 hermit crabs, 2 ferrets, 18 chooks (4 at one house, plus 14 chooks at our other house), 4 cows, 6 sheep, 2 turkeys, 8 ducks, 6 geese, 3 pigs. About to start looking for two horses (1 for me, 1 for DS).

It's a menagerie, but it's our menagerie, and we love it.

I've got a British Shorthair Silver Tabby. Lovely cat. Very vocal and attention seeking! Likes sticking her head under the laundry tap haha
