DD (16) and her friend have booked in to have their nails done later in the week as they have their Prom. I have messaged the place that is doing their nails to ask as a surprise to them if they could have an additional treatment to make it extra special and I will pay for them both prior to the appointment. DD has been friends with this girl a long time.

Am now stressing that may be I have over reacted and shouldn't have done this!

The reason why I have decided to do this is that DD has been amazing these last few months, helped me sort out the front garden (lots of dirty work etc) and worked hard for her exams too .

Why shouldn't you have done it? It sounds like a lovely surprise

What did you pay for? A massage? The other parent nay well object.

I haven't paid for anything yet - am still waiting for place to get back to me, was thinking something along the lines of a pedicure etc...

X post. My DD would have been made up about her eyebrows being booked in, but she can't stand her feet being touched.

I'd ask, before you book, tbh.

A pedicure would probably be OK.

A full face of orange make up might be inappropriate.

Do you know the other parents?

Think that is what is panicking me, was hoping that they went there they were told it was all taken care of and an extra treatment had also been paid for too!

You are being a little over dramatic about this! Can you just book the a time slot for either a pedi/facial whatever and they can choose when they get there? Or ask them what they want if you are that worries but I can't see anyone taking offence to being booked a pedicure really..

I wasn't trying to be dramatic, just had a sudden thought that it would be a nice thing to do for DD. It wasn't until after I had messaged the place that I then had thoughts that may be I was being over the top and shouldn't have done it!
