To think the lead members of the Royal family should step up to the plate

Thanks to David Cameron running off with his tail between his legs we are, to quote his words something he DID get right temporarily rudderless.

I know the Royal family aren't supposed to get involved in political matters, but they should be doing something … if it's only to boost morale and promote some sense of unity.

Crazy idea, or not?

The royals are uniting figures and maybe the country would be run better if they had real power

Yes, let's let an unelected family steer our country through choppy waters, marvelous idea.

NowWhat1983 · 26/06/2016 10:59

Maybe the Queen should make some fluffy woolly speech about setting aside differences and all that bollocks. She is our head of state. No reason why she cant address us without showing a bias either way.

2moreminutes · 26/06/2016 11:00

I'm not saying the Queen should be the bloody PM fgs Hmm

(Although she would probably do a better job than most of th pms we've had) Grin

I think Prince Charles could be a caretaker prime minister, he's very knowledgeable and most people like him

Well, thanks for my first laugh in days! The very notion...our first homeopathic royal PM. Ha!

TheDuchessOfArbroathsHat · 26/06/2016 11:02

Congratulations!

You have reached a new level of insanity in the never-ending game of "Who Can Say The Craziest Thing Today"

Keep playing to score more points and watch your friends back away slowly as you approach!

pseudonymity · 26/06/2016 11:02

Off with their heads!

ipsogenix · 26/06/2016 11:02

No that would not be a good idea. :-)

StealthPolarBear · 26/06/2016 11:03

Ego I do find it odd that euro 16 is going calmly on in the background . My baby bel cheese have European flags on

2moreminutes · 26/06/2016 11:03

The royals are uniting figures

This is what I was trying to say.

I think she the Queen should stick Cameron, Boris, Gove, JC and Nicola Sturgeon in the Tower, all in a little cell and keep them there until they figure out a way out of this mess.

The powers will be will fix Euro 2016 so that England win. If that doesn't work they'll fix the Olympics so we get more gold medals than the USA and China.

Oh, wait. This isn't a conspiracy thread.

2moreminutes · 26/06/2016 11:06

Thanks duchess. It means a lot Grin

Actually even if they address the nation who gives a toss what they have to say.

IN/OUT no matter what govt is elected they remain filthy rich and bone idle.

Nothing effects them the way it does with us.

LaConnerie · 26/06/2016 11:07

Ha ha ha ha ha.

First we leave the EU and next we should have the Queen taking control?!

No thanks.

familyfarm · 26/06/2016 11:07

The Royal family needs to go.

It is an unelected group that has no place in a democracy.

Lynnm63 · 26/06/2016 11:08

I'd pay good money to watch Phil the Greek negotiate with junker and Merkel. In fact if we put it on pay for view we'd make a killing.

herecomesthsun · 26/06/2016 11:10

hilarious

Witchend · 26/06/2016 11:10

I wonder whether if they'd said if we leave we would also have to leave Euro football competitions how many people would gave been swayed. Grin

Livingtothefull · 26/06/2016 11:10

The Queen and senior royals were doing something more important today…attending a Society wedding:

Says it all really.

nuttymango · 26/06/2016 11:11

Lumpy we're faced with the prospect of an unelected prime minister who is disliked by many professionals in the country, I don't think the royal family should step in but I can't see that they'd do a worse job.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 26/06/2016 11:12

That would have changed the outcome, Witchend. Definitely.

2moreminutes · 26/06/2016 11:12

The powers will be will fix Euro 2016 so that England win. If that doesn't work they'll fix the Olympics so we get more gold medals than the USA and China.

If we don't like the results we should demand a rematch.

The senior royals are hardly going to miss the wedding of a close family friend because of the referendum. They are close enough that Prince Charles gave the bride away (hmm, don't approve of that outdated practice) because her father was too ill.
