I voted to leave. I've commented on a few of the threads but I'm tired of saying 'Yes, I considered the facts, No, I'm neither racist nor thick' etc etc

I suspect that MN, like the nation, is split pretty evenly for both sides. Most Leave voters are, I imagine, heartily sick and tired of all of the insulting, derogatory threads about this issue.

I voted leave and have a masters degree but yeah sick of the vitriolic comments calling all leavers thick and racist.

If you read it, I said the COMMENTS were vile....and yes...some of what I've read can only be written by dickheads...

The vitriol, lazy stereotyping and downright rude and offensive posts and comments thrown at anyone who voted leave is why.

I'm one of the Leave voters who made my choice on a moral principle of democracy. The EU, as it currently is, is fundamentally undemocratic, and too unwieldy to reform from within. I'd be perfectly happy to listen to and consider arguments in favour of a properly democratic version of it.

I ignore most of the squeals of RACIST bellowed by the more hysterical Remainers, I know it's not true of myself.

I voted leave and am very proud of having done so. Project Fear obviously worked pretty well given the hysterical rhetoric on here in the last 48 hours.

No one knows what's going to happen - or what would have happened if we'd stayed - but I am extremely optimistic that we have gone for the better option.

I've seen a number of mumsnetters say they voted leave, but you're right, not nearly as many as those of us who voted remain.

There are plenty of reasons for this but one biggie I think is that saying you voted leave is now rather like admitting you voted Tory in the 90s.

Incidentally I suspect I'm not the only middle class female graduate aged (just!) under 55 who failed to vote the way my demographic actually predicted. Don't forget, I became aware of politics when Tony Benn - a massive Eurosceptic - was still active, and have been despairing of the Labour Party ever since Blair schmoozed his way in.

I voted leave. I'm 29.
I know 9 people who have been very vocal on social media and in person about being Stay. To the point that I have now hidden them and the drivel they are posting towards anyone who dares admit to having a different opinion. Valid points I can read, vile abuse I won't.
Everyone else I know is very pleased to be leaving.
I have family in another EU country. They are all excited that they too may get to vote!

It has a lot to do with demographics, educated British women with families were mainly 'remain' voters. I live in Oxfordshire, am all of the things mentioned above and most of my friends are the same, and almost without exception my Facebook page was full of posts in complete disbelief! A reminder that we appeared to be sorely out of touch with the feelings and opinions of other demographics.

Yes. There is no real evidence that they are more numerous. It is equally possible that they are fewer but more voicifierous.

I am interested to note how much MN hated the Tories and Cameron at the last election, but it isn't bothered that Cameron headed the Remain campaign. Yet leavers are all the scum of the earth because Farage headed the leave campaign.

I voted leave. I live in the east,am under fifty and a graduate. Most people here voted leave because of " them poles that are taking our jobs". I voted leave for a more transparent government and a less biased europe. I quite like " them poles " I work with, the ones I know of wish Poland would come out of Europe too.

Gobsmacked people think I'm uneducated and racist for having a difference of opinion and have no words for the younger generation telling me I have ruined the world for them.
