About kids out playing at this time of night?

I'm aware that this is partially my issue (1yo teething horribly and taking an age to settle, warm house so windows have to be open in order to breathe) but AIBU to think that next doors kids (5&7) shouldn't be out playing and screeching at this time of night on a school night?! They often stay out until 9, even 10pm!

Just after 8pm is late? Madness.

Especially in Scotland you've got to grab those sunshiny hours when you can!

Mine are 8 and 11 and were playing and helping DH do some gardening until 9.30pm. Bed was 10.30pm.

Should I get the smelling salts ready for those delicate souls who can't cope with the idea of children being up past 8pm? Grin

I always find the idea of a 7pm (or thereabouts) bedtime just weird. Talking about school age children, not babies and toddlers.

I'm a SAHM so see my DC as much as anyone will and if I put mine to bed for 8pm there'd be little time for fun. By the time they get home, wind down, dinner, homework, bath, it'd be straight to bed. A later bedtime leaves time for board games and football and all that stuff.

If you can fit it all in and still have an early bedtime then tell me your secret.
