I know it's been said before but saying it again.

Sigh...

You could call them?

Stargazing25 · 22/06/2016 20:07

That's the problem. I always do!

If you call them and they aren't reciprocating, are they really friends? Hmm

emsyj · 22/06/2016 21:48

If you get into a habit of being the one who always does the running, it sets the scene that that is your role in the relationship. I suspect these friends just expect you to do the calling and arranging because you always have. I doubt they are disinterested/uncaring.

Decide how often you are confortable calling them and stick to it. You don't have to call extra compensate for the "her calls". Or you could think about if her not calling is a sign to end the friendship or just a sign that she is disorganised

My friends reliably don't call, but then I reliably don't call them.
We're still friends we just live a long way from each other and have too much shit in our lives.
When we do get together its great though and that's the important bit.
Maybe you just need more friends/ hobbies so their business doesn't bother you.

busyness?

Hereforthebeer · 22/06/2016 22:02

I know OP. Just don't call them if its gone on for too long .. I did this to one of my 'friends' and she realised -about a year later- and started to phone, send cards etc.. but it was too little too late for that particular friendship for me.

laurenwiltxx · 22/06/2016 22:02

YANBU I have had this with alot of friends. I purposely don't call them for ages and then they call me and have the cheek to ask where I have been. Just don't bother anymore. Do for them as they do for you , nothing more it's not worth it

Oh, I'm just feeling sorry for myself and needed to vent! Sparked by seeing a few of them out on fb (I know, I know) and not having had an invite.
I think the main problem is that they mostly all have children at the same school and see each other every day. I work full time and my kids go else where.
Pull yourself together Mrs Gazing!
