Sneering husband

Just read out a new thread I had been reading to DH. He asked me in a sort of sneering way " where do you find these things ?"...as if to say " what rubbish is she reading now ". I objected to his tone and he responded by saying that he thought some of the threads were " complete fantasy ". Given that he volunteers with an organisation that helps people in difficulties I was amazed. I asked if they also " made things up ". He said I was being ridiculous. I'm thinking he can't cope with the idea that some men treat women terribly and just wants it all to go away. Perhaps I shouldn't share these posts with him ? Although he always wants to discuss his cases with me. He never divulges names etc. due to confidentiality issues. What do you think about his attitude ?

YABVU, he's totally right on this

NovemberInDailyFailLand, did that one turn out to be a troll? I hope so!

Pinkheart5915 · 20/06/2016 14:37

that when he is telling me about his cases ( at length , in detail , quite often deadly boring ) I shall " zone out" or change the subject

How can you compare not listening about his job to him not listening about mumsnet? Confused it's hardly the same.

He is right a lot of mumsnet is fantasy

Hang on OP, him talking to you about his job isn't the same as you telling him about inane posts on MN.

If I told the guy I'm seeing about random posts on here he'd be bored shitless, just like I wouldn't be remotely interested if he started talking to me about a forum about his hobby. However, he would be interested if I talked to him about my job, just like i'm interested when he talks about mine.

They're two different things.

TrippyMcTrapFace · 20/06/2016 14:48

Actually, a lot of threads on MN are complete fantasy. It's a free for all for trolls.

Then there are the threads are that just a bit silly, inane if you like. They're harmless.
How can you make a comparison between anything on the internet - not just MN - and his volunteering?

NovemberInDailyFailLand · 20/06/2016 16:20

Don't think so, Imperial. The deletion message said 'privacy reasons', though I'm not sure if that horse had bolted, so to speak ;)

HopeArden · 20/06/2016 16:59

I don't see why his job should be deemed more interesting or worthy than something the OP read on MN. Some people's jobs are really dull.
