To feel childishly hurt that my mum, sister and DCs all seemingly forgot my birthday?

Let me start by saying I'm having a wonderful time with DH who whisked me away on a romantic break.

But.

My kids (5 and 7) did not give me so much as a card or drawing before we left this afternoon.

My mum and one of my sisters didn't even call or email.

I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself. AIBU? Feel free to yank me off it!

Congratulations for having such a lovely DH!

No, YANBU, but don't let it take over. It's been years since anybody other than my DD(22) remembered my birthday on the actual day, and sometimes I forget myself. Grin

Kids wont remember, they have to be helped by the other parent!

tbh you have to remind people, and your DH should have reminded the children. At least you had a lovely break!

I'm feeling a bit aggrieved if I'm honest - I always do a big deal for other's birthdays, it seems a bit lopsided right now! But never mind, I know they're all nice people and probably busy (except for my mum who does nothing all day, and my kids who mostly play with Lego 🙃)

I would be hurt my own mother forget my birthday.

As its fathers' day could it be something to do with that.

Your children... Well assuming they're only little. You can't blame them, but your DH could have took them shopping to get you a gift. Even if it were just to the Pound shop.
I really don't understand your mother. How could she forget one of the most important days of her life (The date she gave birth)
Theres nothing childish about your feelings. I'd be hurt fumimg , too
