to ask about church baby and toddler groups?

am considering going to a church baby and toddler group but am really not religious and don't want to be preached to and I don't want them to think i'm being cheeky by coming if it's only meant for their followers

there aren't any non-church ones at a time that works for us

is it a generally accepted thing that the group is just like any baby toddler group, or do they range from "welcoming to anyone and non-preachy" to "downright scary cult recruitment sessions"?

I went to all the church toddler groups - a different one every morning, and to an NCT run one too.
Some had a bible story or slightly religious based songs but it was all pretty light. I liked the ones with a story as it's nice to come together at the end for stories or singing I felt.
Worth branching out with friends sometimes though and just having a picnic in the park?

Went to a Sally Army group last week. If you're an atheist (like me) really don't recommend it. It was very God based, lots of prayers and a discussion on Seria (at a bloody toddler group!!) felt so uncomfortable, and not welcome because they have limited numbers for the space a few regulars couldn't get in and the woman running it made sure to make this known! But I have been to another church group and it was fine, the kids just ran around and there wasn't really any chance to push any messages, but I didn't go back to that one either, just don't feel comfortable in those settings and found some lovely groups at the local sure start and children's centres
