to prefer sleeping with no pillow

Or just slightly on the corner of a thin one??? I sleep on my front and just can't get comfy with my neck twisted upwards on a big fluffy pillow! Obviously laying on my back, on my phone, reading etc I want a pillow or two but most definitely not to sleep! I've never met anyone in real life who shares the same opinion on pillows, I always hear the more the better

Skinny or no pillow here, too. I usually go without at hotels as they generally have only the thick ones. I always slept on my front, but got used to sleeping in my side when pregnant. I can't get comfortable if my neck is bent because of a thick pillow.

One skinny feather pillow for me
I also have a 'cuddle cushion'
I have lots of pillows n cushions on bed for reading etc, but they all end up on floor for sleeping

Pillows are for when reading or for holding in your sleep or propping up babies for hands free feeding. YANBU

Great big, thick memory foam bastard for me. I get very cross and wide awake with a thin pillow. They make me a bit sad.

redjellybean · 17/06/2016 21:02

I have always slept on my tummy, up until recently with no effects. But recently have been having lower back pain which I think is linked to this. Anyone else? I've tried using a pillow to stop myself rolling onto tummy but it's just so comfortable! Confused and yes I use my thinnest, oldest pillow! My neck aches otherwise; it's the worse sleeping position Hmm

cosytoaster · 17/06/2016 21:02

I prefer a slim pillow - hate fluffy ones. Finding a reasonably priced, flattish, firm pillow has become like the search for the holy grail for me

nightandthelight · 17/06/2016 21:04

Another front sleeper who is not a fan of pillows :)

baffledmummy · 17/06/2016 21:08

YANBU....I thought I was the only one!

TipBoov · 17/06/2016 23:04

I like a thin but firm pillow, I hate soft ones!

toffee1000 · 18/06/2016 02:19

I usually stick an arm under my pillow. Problem is, I did that once, and then my index finger was twitching all the next day. I must've partially cut off the circulation. So now I'm more careful.
I like pillows. I sleep in all sorts of positions. My neck feels weird without a pillow if I'm on my front. Oh well. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

hiyahen · 18/06/2016 06:07

My DH doesn't like pillows. And if it was just no pillows that would be no problem for me. However he rolls up his old (horrible, falling to bits and I'm not allowed to put it in the wash!!) dressing gown to make some sort of neck pillow which wraps around his head as he sleeps.

YANBU. My husband most definitely is!

(Sorry I have made this post all about me OP! I never get the chance to talk about the dressing gown of doom.)

Seior · 18/06/2016 08:42

Very thin one here, I've started to take my own to hotels.

RaspberryOverload · 18/06/2016 08:47

I have a memory foam pillow that's actually quit thin. I sort of sleep mostly on my front, but there's just enough bulk in the pillow that if I turn sideways i'm also supported.

I keep 3 other pillows for when I'm sitting up in bed, or the rare times I've got a bad cough and need to sleep sort of partly sitting up on my back.

molyholy · 18/06/2016 08:49

The worst part ever of staying in a hotel is arriving and then seeing enormous fluffy pillows

Yes yes yes, to this ^. It's the first thing I notice!!! I am a very thin pillower. Lie on my front.

NapQueen · 18/06/2016 08:52

I have a front sleeper pillow from Ikea and use a back sleeper as my cuddle pillow. They are in two different colour pillowcases so I can identify them quickly!

I always find it amusing seeing people "asleep" on TV propped up on 34 pillows. My Family was the worst for that.
