OK a bit of a delayed reaction here, but a few weeks ago he covered for Simon Mayo on drive time Radio 2.

And he just came across as a bit of twat generally.

all a bit "I'm fucking awesome, and i'm gonna let you know it"

Yes!!! I thought exactly the same thing!

Princecharlesfirstwife · 13/06/2016 13:49

YANBU

Normandy144 · 13/06/2016 13:51

YABU he's hilarious!

00100001 · 13/06/2016 13:53

just take the first few seconds of the show "basically, you're all fucking idiots and I'm hilarious"*

*I'm paraphrasing.

Nah he's reet is Richard.

A different league to that dickwad Evans.

iremembericod · 13/06/2016 13:55

I saw him on a train recently and he was fit

BeautyQueenFromMars · 13/06/2016 13:59

Ooh, I'd forgotten about Richard Bacon. I used to watch him on that tv programme he did. Big Breakfast was it? He's always been a bit full of himself.

Floralnomad · 13/06/2016 14:01

YANBU , he took over from Simon Mayo on 5 live a few years back and he was terrible , didn't matter who he interviewed the conversation always ended up revolving around him .

WordGetsAround · 13/06/2016 14:04

I thought no one else had noticed!! What a twat - he is beyond full of himself. Far more than Chris Evans - and that is saying something!!

00100001 · 13/06/2016 15:04

Yy Words

haggisaggis · 13/06/2016 15:10

I stopped listening when he was on. It was dreadful.

MummaGiles · 13/06/2016 15:12

Going to go against the consensus here but I really rate Richard Bacon, I ised to love his late night programme on 5Live back in the day. And Tony Livesy for that matter, he's great too.

Shelby1981 · 13/06/2016 15:19

can't bear him!!!

BertrandRussell · 13/06/2016 15:22

I've never forgiven Radio 5 for replacing Simon May with him.

Interesting that he's back locumming on the BBC after all his "take America by storm" talk...........

wanderings · 13/06/2016 15:32

No one mention blue peter, of course.

SheSparkles · 13/06/2016 15:33

YANBU all he spoke about was himself and how he was shmoozing with slebs in the US

ApocalypseNowt · 13/06/2016 15:34

Didn't hear that but I did hear an interview he did on Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre podcast this year.

I thought he came across alright, was quite funny and self aware.

00100001 · 13/06/2016 15:40

goodness yes sparkles! It's all like "yeah, I'm mates with X" and "when I was in this exclusive members only club, I met so and so, and now we're best buds"

annoying.

OP posts:
supersoftcuddlytoys · 13/06/2016 15:40

I agree, Bacon's a knob. I heard him trying to defend this man on his radio show who had many children being debated by a woman who is worried about over population. He just couldn't, he was reaching for words and trying to be all philosophical. What a pillock!

Itslikeyoureadmymind · 13/06/2016 15:45

You are so nbu! I hate him. I love Simon Mayo and really enjoy my drive home from work, then I turn on the radio and wank bucket himself is there, talking about how amazed he was to meet Sam Cam...

Musicinthe00ssucks · 13/06/2016 15:55

I once saw him driving around Archway in a convertible like he fucking owned it (just after his Blue Peter nose candy scandal) he comes across like an arrogant twat.

00100001 · 13/06/2016 16:54

I'm pleased to have found my fellow bacon-haters Grin

OP posts:
Queenbean · 13/06/2016 16:56

He got sacked from Blue Peter for being caught taking coke didn't he?

OhTheRoses · 13/06/2016 16:58

I thought you meant the Norfolk MP Blush

DramaAlpaca · 13/06/2016 16:59

He had to make a public apology on TV after he got sacked from Blue Peter.
