Nanny wouldn't get it

I'm sure you'll feel my pain, I wanted Nanny to give me her phone (it was on the shelf), so I could make important phone calls.I have a social life as well Nanny!

However, she refused, as she was 'busy.' As far as I can see cooking a chicken isn't as important as me. That chicken's already roasted, but I'm still here and I have needs that far outweigh a roasted chicken. Time is biscuits Nanny!

WIBU to cry and not talk to her. She's acting all offended, I've told her she's dead to me until I want some sweets.

It took a while to realise you meant a Grandparent.... not a paid nanny

ClopySow · 12/06/2016 20:21

AIBU is the dark side.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/06/2016 20:40

Good Lord, so the posts that are nasty and unpleasant remain and the funny ones gets zapped? Think I need a MN breakHmm

MypocketsarelikeNarnia · 12/06/2016 20:41

AIBU can be...robust. That's fine. But the reminder that it's not a fight club is much more pertinent for some posters. Revelling in being an arsehole to people on the Internet just makes you an arsehole.

And for what? Here, on this thread, the op has got a kicking for what amounts to 'having the temerity to post things I don't find funny on MY forum'. There are about a billion posts on MN. FIND ONE YOU DO FIND FUNNY AND POST ON THAT.

And as for the idea that we need to write 'lighthearted' on shit, or have a 'lighthearted' area, that idea can fuck off back to nethuns where I assume it came from.

Tbh these posts are cringe and ridiculous. Maybe put in the title "boring trying to be funny" and people won't waste their time opening them.

laidbackneko · 12/06/2016 21:07

I bet netmums would find this thread funny
Now that really is below the belt
Shock

AmysTiara · 12/06/2016 21:08

Mouldy's little dig was worse than what Martha said.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 12/06/2016 21:13

I've been deleted because I said Martha was a twat.

It's true , she did post like a twat!

Fuck me, .

MammaTJ · 12/06/2016 21:15

ReginaBlitz once you have made the mistake of opening it, it would be better for everyone, including yourself, if you just scrolled on by. It is not hard to do, but maybe you prefer to make nasty digs at someone trying to have a little fun online!

I would say the problem is yours rather than the OPs!

On the subject of what they call their grandparents, my GD has a Nanny and granddad, a nanna and granddad and a Granny and Grumpy.

DSILs parents are Nanny and Granddad, my ex and his wife are Nanna and Granddad and myself and DP are Granny and Grumpy (often said with 'Softy really' after it, so may well get changed to Softy).

I don't think any are particularly common, but it is nice to have different name for us all.

NotYoda · 12/06/2016 21:20

Everyone knows I was satirising people thinking Nanny is common, right?

'these posts are cringe and ridiculous'?

DFOD.

And 'cringe' was a verb last time I checked.

MypocketsarelikeNarnia · 12/06/2016 21:38

MrsDV Sad that must be very hard. What a bunch of cunts. I know you from a place where Edie Sedgwick used to hang out if that makes sense so I hope you don't mind me saying that. Flowers

And Yoda I think that's a helpful clarification at this stage

WellErrr · 12/06/2016 21:39

Aye, but you're not allowed to state the fucking obvious on mumsnet these days.

LouisCK · 12/06/2016 21:45

Oh you can through, WellErr, you've just got to be sneaky about it Hmm.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 12/06/2016 21:54

it wasn't personal , it was stating a fact regarding her post.

ReginaBlitz · 12/06/2016 21:54

Mypockets there is a little thing called spellcheck on my phone.

noisyrice · 12/06/2016 21:56

I didn't find it overly funny and had to re-read to work out what was going on. I wasn't going to post anything but to be honest there have some real nasty comments.

It was 'for a laugh' and presumably some people did laugh, and clearly some didn't. That's cool though, not everyone laughs at slapstick comedy or satire, but that's life.

LouisCK · 12/06/2016 22:04

That's probably because No one has reported it because I can indeed be a twat however on this thread my twattery has been massively eclipsed by much huger twats than me.

MypocketsarelikeNarnia · 12/06/2016 22:06

Is there Regina? What a shame it doesn't have a little function to look at whether you're being unnecessarily twatish about other people's humour and massively pompous about 'wasting time' on AIBU.

:)

MypocketsarelikeNarnia · 12/06/2016 22:08

And Louis I would concur with that summing up - you have indeed been out-twatted.

Tribblewithoutacause · 12/06/2016 22:34

Regina I think you're in the wrong place, this isn't tumblr, you've taken a wrong turn and somewhere. I'm sure people will care much about your indignant mutterings than we do.
