Without somebody yelling Mum every five seconds. Or Dh shouting for me.

I'm on Tramadol. A side effect is constipation.

I wish they'd all just go away and leave me in peace😟

The best bit is when they ask you what you are doing in there.

CodyKing · 12/06/2016 14:07

YABTU -

This is the only opportunity they've had all day to ask you

Where the nail Sissons are
What's for tea
Any chance of a lift
If Sarah can come round

Have they shouted 'Mom's the phones ringing yet?'

megletthesecond · 12/06/2016 14:09

Yanbu. It makes it worse.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 12/06/2016 14:11

I had to abort the latest attempt again😟

Dd wanting a drink, despite being 9 and perfectly capable

You have my complete sympathies! One of the things they advise you when you are constipated is to be left alone to poo in peace uninterrupted otherwise it'll make things worse

VagueIdeas · 12/06/2016 14:19

Movicol (or Laxido) is your friend. Can buy OTC or get on prescription. It's a very effective stool softener.

Totally get what you mean re. kids not allowing you any toilet time though. Not very conducive to the relaxing of one's bowels Flowers

Outfoxed · 12/06/2016 14:19

Did they not give you laxatives when they gave you tramadol? I had to take it when I broke my leg really badly and they gave me a big bag of other drugs just to deal with the side affects of that much tramadol! I feel your pain :( hope you can poop in peace soon!

Topseyt · 12/06/2016 14:20

My kids and DH only ever seemed to want anything when I was either on the loo, in the bath, on the phone etc. You know that that is the unwritten rule of having kids or DHs. WinkGrin

They never seemed need me at any other time.

A 9 year old can get her own drink. I would have told mine that if they didn't get it themselves at that age then they couldn't want it badly enough.

FeckinCrutches · 12/06/2016 14:21

You had to leave the bathroom to get a 9yo a drink?

BitOutOfPractice · 12/06/2016 14:24

Why the hell are you stopping what you're doing to get a 9YO a drink? Especially if your DH is there

hollinhurst84 · 12/06/2016 14:26

Bugger that. Stick headphones in and ignore, they're perfectly capable

nocoolnamesleft · 12/06/2016 14:50

Definitely movicol/laxidol. I remember when I was started on tramadol: the hospital thought docusate would cut it. It didn't. First thing I did on discharge was buying some movicol over the counter.
