WIBU to point this out to school?

DC going on school trip.

Consent form sent home, in several places consent form made clear that it was for trips within the council area of the school.

School trip is in a different area.

WIBU to point this out (via a friendly post-it)? DH was a bit Hmm which made me doubt myself.

Back story: I am somewhat anal about paperwork and procedures and doing things exactly right.

I would probably write something on the form to show that my permission also extended to the place they were actually visiting.

LurkingHusband · 09/06/2016 14:35

I'm probably over-anal, but my default thought on finding a mistake in official paperwork is what else have they got wrong ?

EsmeraldaEllaBella · 09/06/2016 18:27

Ffs. No wonder so many teachers are leaving, what a pety idea

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 09/06/2016 18:31

I would point it out as it could cause the school a problem if something goes wrong and they end up in litigation and they don't actually have correct authorisations.

ilovesooty · 09/06/2016 18:40

I would certainly point it out. It is obviously an oversight but the school needs to know.

Nope YANBU. When i used to take kids out of DoFE we used to have to check their walking routes to make sure they didn't cross the county line as it involved a whole different set of paperwork, consents, insurance etc

HermioneJeanGranger · 09/06/2016 19:30

I'm pretty sure they need to know in case something goes wrong. If they're authorised go to county X but the trip is in county Y and a child gets injured, they could be in a fair bit of trouble if the parent turns round and says "I didn't give permission to go to Y".
