that should have gone in other forums.

OP posts:
PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/06/2016 09:30

Surely this could have gone in Site Stuff? Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2016 09:38

YANBU, I think a lot of posters think AIBU is the only topic and never venture out of it.

Also posters who claim to need help just stick the post on AIBU when they would get better and probably less arsey replies in the correct topic.

CrazyDuchess · 09/06/2016 09:39

YANBU

bialystockandbloom · 09/06/2016 09:42

Totally agree. So many threads started now don't even have an AIBU question, even implicitly. Might as well be done with In the News section now.

RhodaBull · 09/06/2016 09:47

Agree. This has been annoying me for some time (and I have been on here for about ten years). People just want traffic and know that if they post in,say, "Short haul travel" they will get fewer replies than if they say, "AIBU to want to take a trip to Prague in October?"

hellswelshy · 09/06/2016 10:18

shrugs I quite like the diversity personally.

Lweji · 09/06/2016 10:22

That ship has sailed years ago.
And yes, yabu.

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2016 10:29

Thank goodness for the Hide Thread function.

WellErrr · 09/06/2016 10:36

Where should this have gone? Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2016 10:37

This is in the right section as far as I am concerned. A proper AIBU with a question and everything.

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2016 10:39

I don't really care that people post in AIBU for traffic.

But what makes me irrationally annoyed, is the amount of threads that are deliberately constructed to start or end with the question AIBU?

So, "AIBU that I saw a dying bee and saved its life?" (I made that up, but you get my drift).

Why not just start a thread saying, "I saw a dying bee today and saved its life"?

I don't care if it's here or in Chat, but people make themselves look daft by trying to shoehorn that question into their OP.

But you know, I'll get over it and all that Grin

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2016 10:40

Finding out I could hide a thread without even opening it has been a revelation as far as the AIBU topic is concerned. Grin

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2016 10:44

I don't hide threads.

I just don't bother opening them again, if they annoy/don't interest me.

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2016 10:45

I love hiding threads it clears up Active nicely. Grin

araiba · 09/06/2016 10:45

yanbu. There is no point in most of the topics on this forum, everyone seems to post in AIBU or chat or the pregnancy boards.

MackerelOfFact · 09/06/2016 10:56

AIBU is basically just 'tell me if I'm right or wrong' isn't it? It covers everything.

MNers love to pile in and tell people they are wrong (myself included [grin[) so naturally it gets a lot of traffic.

Just5minswithDacre · 09/06/2016 10:58

Surely this could have gone in Site Stuff?

She's right Smile

Sparklingbrook · 09/06/2016 11:01

Why Site Stuff? MNHQ don't need to know or do anything. Confused

WorraLiberty · 09/06/2016 11:04

AIBU is basically just 'tell me if I'm right or wrong' isn't it? It covers everything.

With a dose of 'please pat me on the back' Grin

WriteforFun1 · 09/06/2016 11:05

I agree

I particularly hate the "my husband expects me to work down a mine, AIBU" type stuff. I haven't said anything because I think some of those do result in a wake up call which is good. But sometimes I really puzzle over what goes in AIBU.
