Neighbours slamming front door

I live in a Victorian conversion flat with a shared entrance. Our upstairs neighbours are pretty noisy as they have two small kids but I don't mind too much. It gets annoying but I understand that's just life. However what really gets me is that every single time they go out they slam the front door so hard that our walls shake! It is so noisy and uncalled for. The door was stiff and hard to shut however we fixed it over 3 months ago. The door is a shared responsibility but they rent so it is not them who will have to pay if it breaks. We own and would have to pay half. Is it unreasonable to say something? We get on reasonably well, as in we always say hello and know the kids names etc but we don't socialise with them.

I have got DH to go out and shut the door while I'm in the front room just to check it and it is not as loud or violent when he shuts it so it is the way they slam it. I don't want things to be awkward but it is so annoying and maybe they just don't realise! AIBU or would you say something

Get in contact with their landlord.

I would ask them nicely first before contacting the landlord. That seems like telling tales and might make them slam more.

Just st ask them. My upstairs neighbours and all their friends did this. Drove me up the wall at night.

If you don't want to ask them, or they don't stop after you speak to them, could you fit a closer? In my experience, they're fairly cheap (relative to the disturbance!) and they a) mean lazy people just let the door close itself and b) make it hard to slam.
