To expect a response from solicitor??

I had a meeting a month ago with my solicitor (head of family department at an established and highly regarded firm) when we agreed he would send a letter to my soon to be ex-husband highlighting how we can move forward. He agreed I would approve it first . . . and I have heard nothing from him. The letter hasn't been sent . . . and I can't get hold of him. Am I being unreasonable to think that drafting a letter should happen within a four week period??

Four weeks is taking the piss. You should have a terms of business letter telling you who his supervising partner is (even if he is a partner ). If you can't get hold of the fee earner with conduct complain to his supervising partner.

Thank you for the response, he is, however, head partner of the department at the firm. I think the only supervisor would be the director of the company. What irritated me is that he is so positive about me moving on (to the point he's halved his hourly rate for me) but he doesn't reply!!

I'd do a letter like that within three days. Four weeks is bonkers.

You should have been given details of the firms complaints procedure with your client care letter - if you can't contact your solicitor then contact the complaints partner.

Thank you - this does feel insane. I am now going into another weekend with nothing . . .
