Somewhere in the world there must be a giant sculpture made from hair grips, possibly a replica of the Eiffel Tower/golden gate bridge or similar. Where do they go? Why can I never find any, despite buying them all the bloody time? I must have owned thousands but most mornings seem to involve rooting through my make up bag or looking hopefully under the bed....

Does anyone remember an episode of One Foot In The Grave where Victor is moaning about the fact that there's alway one tea spoon left in the sink after draining it?

It leads him to having a dream where scientists drain Loch Ness and at the bottom they discover a giant tea spoon? Grin

I think it's Mumsnetters, nicking them all to hand to posters who need to get a grip

They go in between (under) the skirting board and the floor..I've noticed it when I'm hoovering

Maybe they just want to be called Bobby pins again. Then they'll feel like they're home

'Pony tail' bands dissapear and reappear with alarming regularity round here, gave up on hair grips they just vanish, and emery boards!!! And as for socks... where the hell do they hide? Then they get themselves back again just as I am on the point of throwing the odd sock out Confused I am sure I have a female poltergeist or maybe it is aliens...

And dont get me started on teaspoons...wtf ?? its not like I have little kids who eat yogurts every morning and throw the spoons out with the pots either. Admittedly they do prefer teaspoons to big spoons for some reason but they just leave them lying at their arse (heaven forbid they put them in the sink) so its not them!

It's on the lost items sculpture trail Smile next to the lost socks and tea spoon sculptures Wink

I think Elishiva has it.

All the hair grips are in my DD's bedroom - she's at uni now and rarely home but I think they may be breeding under her bed and behind the chest of drawers

I bought a pack in 2004. I have sons. I've moved twice since, don't now use them (err ok, they're great for sporning but just received my new zit kit) . They turn up everywhere. Send your address I'll post them back.
