this makes me very happy, aside from the worry about stranger danger.
anyone else get a perverse pleasure out of such things?

I set out along a forest track knowing that it was a long one and having no idea how to get of it. Me and my camera, 4 hours of bliss - I turned round in the end. Just as well as it was an 18 mile one way special Smile

Ds and I do that on our bikes. Just follow a path and see where we end up. We have had some great adventures Smile

Stranger danger? Confused
I regularly go off the beaten path, taking a one-man tent with me.
From my pov, more danger on Oxford at.

I love the bush and walk for hours regularly.

I get the stranger danger lectures and lots of warnings about snakes but I feel perfectly fine about it.

It's my happy place.

I always say, if you don't care where you are then you aren't lost.
