Did anyone just see the segment on This Morning about co-sleeping?

I felt that the doctor was so patronising to that woman for whom co sleeping is obviously working.

Surely if it works for some parents we should let them get on with it? Why are some people so against others sharing their bed with their child if they want to? Why does everyone want to make children so 'independent' so early?

I didn't see it but just last night, I was thinking about how much I love it. It works for me and if it's not broken, I won't 'fix' it. 'Fixing' being upsetting my toddler for the sake of nothing.

Exactly Perry if it works for you fantastic. If it doesn't appeal to someone else, well fantastic for them.

The doctor got so cross with this woman for saying it works perfectly well for her- why was she so mad at this strangers choice? Beyond me.

I didn't see it but I find it really annoying when people harp on about mothers "making a rod for their own backs" or being unsafe for co-sleeping. As long as they follow the very simple safe sleep guidelines and are happy with their baby sleeping with them it's a non-issue surely?

I'm currently co-sleeping with no issues with my baby but my toddler is an independent lady who doesn't like it and wanted to be in her cot, both are fine.

People just love to give mams another thing to feel guilty about I think.

It's not my cup of tea. Too hot and claustrophobic and kids are too thrashy and I couldn't hack it. And a lot of husbands retreat to the spare room and that would drive me well....spare, lol.

But I don't give a shiny shit if somebody else does it as long as they do it safely.

And every single person on MN is adamant they do it safely - you never see someone admitting they still do it after being out at a party and having a few drinkies and a few sneaky fags.
