To sit in the garden drinking wine and let Dh sort out dinner?

He's already mowed the lawn and hung three loads of washing out. I opened the wine ten minutes ago and now I'm very comfortably relaxing in the sunshine. I've asked him to do dinner and he's having a small sulk.

The kids are off to camp tomorrow and I've spent the day running around getting all the bits they failed to tell me earlier need.

YABU

Wine is EVIL I may have a hangover

DuvetDayEveryday · 29/05/2016 17:21

Ha! I'm still getting over the bottle of gin we shared on Friday night. Gin is evil. Wine is my friend though, lovely lovely ice cold nz Sauvignon.

Is it a Marlborough? If so, YANBU. Yadddnbu.

DuvetDayEveryday · 29/05/2016 17:24

It is indeed a Marlborough. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I've been sitting drinking wine in the garden while DH made lunch, served me lunch, took dishes away, loaded dishwasher and hung the washing out. I then fell asleep Blush. He's now making dinner while I have another glass of wine......

ILoveAGoodBrusselSprout · 29/05/2016 17:26

YANBU That's exactly what I'd be doing if DH wasn't on his way out to night shift.

I cooked lunch, did three loads of washing and hoovered the flat while my wife sat and drank wine. It is fine as she does other stuff. Life is for sharing so enjoy YANBU (I've now sitting here with a glass of wine)

Notfastjustfurious · 29/05/2016 17:30

Yanbu, my dh is also cooking however we have no sun and its bloody cold so I'm watching Waybuloo instead. Possibly he has the better deal here Hmm

DuvetDayEveryday · 29/05/2016 17:31

He's agreed to chop the chicken. We're having fajitas out of a packet so that's basically all there is to it. #winning.

YABVVVU. But only because I am 26 weeks PG and VERY jealous. I would love to join you all in your marlborough drinking in the sun!
Enjoy! GrinGrin

Jaimx86 · 29/05/2016 17:34

Sounds like a good plan to me :D

Ontheisland · 29/05/2016 17:36

Naa YANBU, I'm sat in the garden waiting for the sun to go down too. Need to take the dog out but she's black and would get too hot in the sun.
I may also have wineSmile

WildIrishRose1 · 29/05/2016 17:40

Not jealous. At all.Envy

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 29/05/2016 17:49

Wondering why I don't have wine now ...strictly speaking it's 12 hours after we got up in this house so 6.30...but it is sunny!!

TheWitchesofIzalith · 29/05/2016 17:50

I need one of these men. Where do you get them from?

I think I need to invent and patent some sort of pop-up boyfriend/husband. To wait on me while I sit in the garden, and do household chores, and provide interesting and witty conversation, etc. But I can pop him back down whenever I've had enough of him for a while. If he starts hogging the tv remote, say.

sepa · 29/05/2016 17:51

YABVVU as I have to drive so I can't have anything

DuvetDayEveryday · 29/05/2016 18:05

We've had dinner now and are going for a nice evening walk with the dog. This may or may not end up going past the shop for more lovely wine as Dh has now finished his chores. Grin

Yabvu, but only because I'm pregnant and jealous of all this evening garden drinking that's started with the nice weather...

ExitPursuedByBear · 29/05/2016 18:13

I am lying in bed with a broken toe and a glass of wine. Dh has just brought me a flake.

They are much, much smaller than they used to be.

beenaroundawhile · 29/05/2016 18:18

YADNBU

May is the best month of the year, along with June. If you don't do it now it could August and all over. Then you would have regrets.

No one wants regrets.

DuvetDayEveryday · 29/05/2016 18:19

When I went to the shop on Friday to buy gin and tonic, the manager served me. He said 'I'm so jealous, you're like the fifth person in a row to be buying afternoon-in-the-garden drinks'. Life is good Grin

Not only is it a sunny bank holiday weekend and therefore witchcraft, it's also our nine year anniversary today. So well worth celebrating.

YANBU but I am very jealous as DD is looking like she's going to present me with tonsillitis again and the bottle of beer I have been promising myself all day looks like it is off limits Sad
