Sex on tv... Acceptable and expected?

LoveBitOfMN · 27/05/2016 09:14

NC for this
Had seriously enough from programs like Geordie Shore who advocate sex on TV so easily with anyone, and maybe a different one dependant on day of the week!
'Ladies' who barely left their teenage years just get pissed night after night showing their bits, fucking the one that just has to pay a pathetic compliment !
These ladies are stars on TV, they win celebrity big brother etc loved by everyone
The blow job to whatever idiot is their claim to fame..
These are the idols our daughters are inspired to be?? How scary is that?

As for the little male fuckers of those programs... No comment

I watch a lot of TV, but I don't watch Geordie Shore and I maybe see someone from it every now again in a magazine and that's it - so clearly they aren't everywhere!

MrsJayy · 27/05/2016 09:51

Reality stars leak out of their programmes thats true I know who they are but dont watch them I know who vicky pattison is Spencer Mathews Charlotte crosby i shouldnt realy know who they are but i do popular culture I guess

LoveBitOfMN · 27/05/2016 09:51

Nothing to do with what women are allowed to do..we are taking abou children and no I'm not teaching my child that it's ok to have sex with multiple partners Hmm

frumplstilskin · 27/05/2016 09:51

no comment on the men means they were even worse right?

molyholy · 27/05/2016 09:51

If young girls grow up to 'idolise' these people, they have not been guided very well.

Easy not to watch. Avoid tabloids and trashy mags.

It is very adult TV and I certainly wouldn't allow anyone under the age of 15 to watch it anyway.

LoveBitOfMN · 27/05/2016 09:51

Feckin meant "I'm a celebrity get me out of here"

OP posts:
FeckinCrutches · 27/05/2016 09:52

Well I'm assuming you won't let your child watch Geordie Shore either so what's the problem?

LoveBitOfMN · 27/05/2016 09:55

Feckin it's about the culture we experience and the fact that those useless stars seem very accepted suddenly and integrated... What's next ? They present the One Show? Maybe yes ... And this is what I have a problem with

Vicky pattison did the Geordie Lass well on im a celeb she was funny and up for the challange no shagging though she didnt even get her tits out Im not sure she is corrupting our daughters

PaulAnkaTheDog · 27/05/2016 09:57

Wow, you're an angry person!

DuckAndPancakes · 27/05/2016 09:58

Let's all get our bells out and make them do a parade of "shame".

MrsJayy · 27/05/2016 09:59

Very angry i was going to mention Kim Kardashian but was scared the op would explode with rage Grin

FeckinCrutches · 27/05/2016 09:59

You would have a problem with them presenting The One Show? So people who did some daft things years ago on a tv series aren't allowed to mature and become a bit more sensible and do more serious stuff? They aren't exactly teens anymore.

NannawifeofBaldr · 27/05/2016 10:00

At the risk of repeating myself - take a look at your viewing/reading choices.
They aren't 'everywhere'. I lead my life quite happily without knowing anything about any of them.

I'm vaguely aware that there are programmes with those names but I if my life depended on it I couldn't name any of the characters or pick our their photos.

Cut out reality TV and tabloid newspapers and you are all sorted - there's lots of other things to watch and read.

LoveBitOfMN · 27/05/2016 10:13

It's not all 100% down to parenting
The mistakes children make sometimes don't mean it was their parents' wrong choices!

OP posts:
GreenishMe · 27/05/2016 10:13

LoveBit you can't win....the point you were really making has been side-stepped in order to demonise you and you're now a traitor to your own gender and a bad parent.

I know what you mean.... the fact that they go on to become 'celebrities' appearing on other shows and magazines etc. does kind of endorse the fact they've shagged their way to fame.

Like you, I wouldn't want any of my kids shagging on tv and I suspect, in reality, very few on here would either.

Oliversmumsarmy · 27/05/2016 10:15

I have heard of Geordie Shore, Made in wherever etc but have not a clue who is in them. Celebrity Big Brother and the Jungle one I have glanced at occasionally when i have come in the living room whilst dp is watching but have not a clue who 3/4 of the people are.

Think if it is bothering anyone that much TVs do come with an off button as well as a button to switch channels.

LoveBitOfMN · 27/05/2016 10:16

Oliversmum you miss the point or didn't read my comments

Greenish you got it!

whatsthatcomingoverthehill · 27/05/2016 10:17

I've got no idea who any of the people you are talking about are.

The problem isn't with the individuals involved, it is with a culture that somehow sees it as interesting or worthwhile. But you don't have to be part of that culture if you don't want to.

EveryoneElsie · 27/05/2016 10:18

Those programs and the tabloids exist because people watch them, comment about them and fund them.

FeckinCrutches · 27/05/2016 10:19

So they shouldn't be allowed to do anything else because of how they started?

KondosSecretJunkRoom · 27/05/2016 10:19

Being young, getting pissed and getting laid extends much further back than the advent of reality tv and the rise of z-list celebrities.

And aren't this generation of youngsters much better behaved than our generation was, if the figures on drink and drugs are to be believed? I seem to remember our feral unladylike behaviour was placed at the feet of Zoe Ball and drinking friends Grin it certainly wasn't because it was fun or anything, oh no, we were misled!

Patterkiller · 27/05/2016 10:22

I have never seen these shows because I chose not to. My 19 year old daughter watched with grim fascination, she does not look up to anyone or treat them as role models and certainly doesn't feel the need to replicate their behavior.

MrsJayy · 27/05/2016 10:23

The ladettes of the 90s are now on radio 2 hardcore Grin

Oliversmumsarmy · 27/05/2016 10:25

Had seriously enough from programs like Geordie Shore who advocate sex on TV

Don't think I missed the point. If you don't watch it then why go on about it. It should not cross your radar.

I'm not watching those fucking programs but I certainly see those individuals everywhere

How do you know who these people are if you don't watch the programme
