To wonder why Prince William didn't shake the children's hands?

DH is watching FA Cup final and at the start William comes out and walks down the line up shaking hands.

Each player has a child around 6 /7 years old. William reached over their heads to wish the players good luck and ignored the kids.

I know the children are in awe of getting to stand in front of their heroes but it would be nice just to give them the whole experience and it would have taken an extra minute or two!

DH thinks it's hilarious I noticed this and says I am such a mum Grin

I said the same thing to DH!

crankyblob · 21/05/2016 19:40

Btw I love William Grin

They were already running late so I expect he got told to hurry it along but I know what you mean!

dementedma · 21/05/2016 19:41

Time factor

PuntasticUsername · 21/05/2016 19:42

Because children's hands are more sensitive than those of adults, so if he'd touched the children they would have detected the lizard scales that lie beneath his fake skin.

True story.

Marcipex · 21/05/2016 19:42

We noticed William dashed along the line leaving a long gap between himself and the other bigwigs. He could have spared a moment for the children.

derxa · 21/05/2016 19:42

We already have a thread pouring bile over William's wife. Not one about him now too

crankyblob · 21/05/2016 19:43

I just thought Rooney or cute excited child with a huge beaming smile on their face! I know which one would get my attention!

Missing the importance completely according to DH Grin

I've never noticed an official shake the hand of a mascot.

Being a Mascot is an honour in itself and I doubt they care if William shajes their hand.

AdrenalineFudge · 21/05/2016 19:46

Derxa You are Carole Middleton and I claim my £5!

Jungfraujoch · 21/05/2016 19:46

It seemed odd to me too! One of the little boys even bowed his head - bless him.

BillSykesDog · 21/05/2016 19:47

Maybe George and Charlotte have got worms?

Lucylaceingale · 21/05/2016 19:50

I think it was just a time factor, the whole thing was running late, it would have been nice but it's nothing to really get annoyed at him about

ilovesooty · 21/05/2016 19:50

I've never noticed the mascots having their hands shaken either.

acsec · 21/05/2016 19:53

I said the same to my DH 😊

derxa · 21/05/2016 19:54

Derxa You are Carole Middleton and I claim my £5! Grin I'm a 'well-built' Scottish farmer who's knee deep in sheep shit but apart from that I'm her doppelganger. Honestly if this thread had been about Kerry Katona or some such MNHQ would have deleted it for being 'not in the spirit'

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 21/05/2016 19:55

touch children?? is he drb checked for that?

derxa · 21/05/2016 19:56

Oops I've got my royalty threads mixed up Grin

ineedaholidaynow · 21/05/2016 19:58

I must admit I thought the same. However, he did rush through the line of players so I assume time was a factor

ShatnersBassoon · 21/05/2016 19:59

I think he just hates children.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 21/05/2016 19:59

well its not about the kids is it?

RhiWrites · 21/05/2016 20:03

I just thought Rooney or cute excited child with a huge beaming smile on their face! I know which one would get my attention!

At a freaking cup final?! Are you on glue?

AdrenalineFudge · 21/05/2016 20:05

You haven't derxa it's all pretty much the same thing. I did click the thread wondering if you'd already commented Grin

FrancesNiadova · 21/05/2016 20:05

My favourite bit was when the singer stood there grinning, whilst the national anthem was being played, & joined in 2 lines from the end.......,"You had one job..."

SeemsLegit · 21/05/2016 20:10

Oh that poor singer!
