My Mum bought a purple leather sofa for her conservatory when she married her new DH. She went a bit Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen on us and painted everything turquoise accessorised with zebra stripes. I'm hoping she calms down soon, I can't visit with a hangover.

pigsDOfly · 20/05/2016 19:49

Oh god that's nasty.

emotionsecho · 20/05/2016 19:59

Looks like something a playboy man-about-town in the 1970's would have in his 'pad', or Donald Trump.Grin

TweedAddict · 20/05/2016 20:01

There's a purple leather/pleather two seater sofa in our local charity shop. It looks old and shit. They want £95 for it Blush

steff13 · 20/05/2016 20:09

Actually, I like it in a retro, kitschy sort of way. Not for my formal living room, but maybe for my less formal family room, if I was doing a retro sort of style...

wtffgs · 20/05/2016 20:12

Hmm Hmm

Not my cup of tea - but I have twigs, fairy lights, a feature wall and laminate so I am utterly despicable according to MN lore Grin

Izzabellasasperella · 20/05/2016 20:15

I quite like it. Think it could work in the right room.

MrsSpecter · 20/05/2016 20:16

Does it have a powder blue trim as well?? Its hideous!

celeste83 · 20/05/2016 20:16

oh my lol where did you find that?

BMW6 · 20/05/2016 20:20

I actually like it (without the diamante).........Blush

TweedAddict · 20/05/2016 20:31

Hideous.

Theoretician · 20/05/2016 20:59

Gold is just a colour. An OK one. If it were mustard yellow, bright orange or olive green I could bring myself to dislike it. (Though in a different style, orange might be OK.)

Notso · 20/05/2016 21:14

It's bad but not quite as bad as I was imagining.

SaucyJack · 20/05/2016 21:18

Rather that than tweed.... Wink

DailyMailFodder · 20/05/2016 21:23

It could be worse....

I don't mind it actually. Not a fan of gold in general but that's quite retro and could work in the big grand room I'm picturing with lots of quirky shit.

ALemonyPea · 20/05/2016 21:57

Looks like a gilded turd.

DailyMaui · 20/05/2016 23:06

I used to live in Dubai and I saw some sights let me tell you:

The gold and white striped leather sofa with diamanté sprinkled liberally.

The apartment where everything was inspired by ancient Egypt - including the giant fountain in the normal sized hallway, and the large Tutankhamen head in the kitchen.

The selection of crazy villas where people built fibreglass replicas of various things in their gardens. These included a bright red volcano, a fake tree stump and a wall built into the rear of a villa which looked like a rock face with a cave.

Various cars that made my eyes bleed. The sports car covered with Gucci print and gold wheels was a favourite.

There was a shop in one of the malls that has furniture even Lawrence Lewellyn Bowen would balk at. It had a sofa very like your gold one.

Beepbopboop · 20/05/2016 23:52

I like it too. Well I would without the diamante. Blush

fatmomma99 · 21/05/2016 00:02

I want it!

I think I need it.

Pinkheart5915 · 21/05/2016 00:17
