Anyone awake? Headache/migraine - can't sleep with the pain. :-(

Took paracetamol plus ibuprofen about 3/4 of an hour ago but so far it barely seems to have touched it. Sad It's a horrible intermittent stabbing/throbbing pain on one side of the back of my head. Third day I've had it now on and off; just now seems worse than ever. Anyone any recommendations as to what else I can do? TIA.

No recommendations, just huge sympathy.
I couldn't have typed and been looking at a screen if I was having a migraine, I'd have thrown up.
They are horrible, and relentless. I used to lie in a darkened room and sip water because all I could focus on was surviving it. Past tense, I grew out of them in my mid-20s.

Hi, thanks, just bad headache then I guess but either way it hurts. Got up as couldn't sleep as said.

Think the drugs may finally be taking an edge off it now, but not altogether. Was curled up in a ball crying half an hour ago. Just tensing up waiting for the next stab to come.

Never knew what a headache was till my early 40s! I'd escaped them till now.
