to feel miffed about 11,000 recipes on BBC site being made inaccessible to the public

From The Guardian:

Although the 11,000 recipes will not be deleted, a source told the Guardian they will be “archived or mothballed” and “fall off the face of the internet” after the food site is closed. The individual URLs of each recipe will remain live, but they will not be linked to from any other part of the BBC website.
Only recipes associated with TV shows will be maintained, and only for 30 days after the show is broadcast.

DH, not a regular or accomplished cook, is very miffed. He commented it was his easiest go to resource for quickly finding a manageable recipe.

I love the recipe site!

If you care, there's a petition to save the archive here:

I'm not happy. Will spend some time copying my favourites and those I've wanted to try. Wont get them all though 😡They may be archived on the way back machine.

The Internet Archive have taken a copy of all the recipes. At the moment, they aren't easily searchable, but spokespeople have said they've hired extra people to help create a searchable directory of the recipes that won't be under the BBC's control, so will always be accessible.

They're expecting it to take around four weeks I think.

Why can't they transfer them over to the BBC good food website?
