Thought in thanks for everyone's time on my thread I'd give a quick update.

Apparently there's a crew of ladies in my church who tell me I've to show respect/shhhhh people/tell people not to sit near them and basically just make everyone feel unwelcome.

Unsure what the solution is but hopefully we can all find one.

Anyway, thanks again for every response on my initial thread.

Gotcha wild.

So we are in the extended lentil weaving realms of lotus births, placenta pate, and their ilk.

Op just go to church wearing clothes and parent on the basis that there are other people in the world who your DS will need to rub along with.

Simple.

To the posters who are so resistant to an Americanism (sharp intake of breath) that's been in common parlance for decades. Get with the bloody times...
crunchy ˈkrʌntʃi/ adjective

  1. making a sharp noise when bitten or crushed. "bake until the topping is crunchy"
  2. NORTH AMERICAN informal politically liberal and environmentally aware.
"a song that incorporates whale-singing seems pretty crunchy" and slang Crunchy-granola: "If they're crunchy types, consider camping out along the way instead of staying at motels" (Jennifer Hanson).
alltoomuchrightnow · 15/05/2016 21:05

I'm really, really confused!

Mumandmummer · 15/05/2016 21:05

Cringing at 'crunchy' and at the idea that this needed an 'update' of any kind. What on earth...

Robins appears to have completely misunderstood the connotations associated with the phrase 'mean girls' in the 21st century. The girls weren't 'very mean'. They were very 'mean girls'.

Still. Nobody belittle women. It's wrong.

And that's all I really care to say on this.

ASAS · 15/05/2016 21:07

I think I'll leave this here then drop the mic. Genuinely not sure why my phrases are so alien, I'm speaking the Queen's English. I must spend too much time with teenagers. Anyway, thanks again everyone and night night

Do you mean you've vowed never to snap at someone out of the blue?

In case it throws them into a crisis of self doubt?

She snapped for a reason.

Just teach DS that in some environments we need to keep the noise down and consider others.

You can be child centred AND instil consideration for others.

Stratter5 · 15/05/2016 21:08

Not where I was brought up it wasn't common parlance. I've never heard of it, and I appear to be one of very many.

Fucking ridiculous term. Makes me think of stepping on cockroaches

What's with all the microphone dropping today? Nobody's even given me a mic Sad

wherethewildthingis · 15/05/2016 21:10

Oh my goodness I just cringed so hard I have cramp in both legs

Stratter5 · 15/05/2016 21:10

Queen's English?

I think not.

Adults trying to speak like teenagers, nothing cringier.

MarthasHarbour · 15/05/2016 21:10

Ha I did the opposite of every single thing on that crunchy list. Dies that make me silky then? Confused I don't want to be a flammable négligé Hmm

P1nkP0ppy · 15/05/2016 21:11

Good grief, I know it doesn't take much to confuse me but this beats the lot....
😳😳😳

I must be getting old 😟

alltoomuchrightnow · 15/05/2016 21:11

if anyone described themselves as being crunchy to me, I'd view them as being brittle, abrasive, snappy, hard work. I've never come across this word till now used to describe an individual.
I've just had a quick look at original post.
It seems massively il mannered and disrespectful to let a child just wander around in church. I say this as a pagan, but if I ever enter a church I behave very respectfully.. the same as I would/ do in any place of worship. It sounds like very self entitled behaviour. I would be worried I'd be pissing off the rest of the churchgoers, which evidently you have. I'd get a sitter or not go at all. It's not a creche/ Center Parcs/ playground/ coffee shop etc etc

alltoomuchrightnow · 15/05/2016 21:12

(never thought I'd be sticking up for Christians!) ;)

NoCapes · 15/05/2016 21:12

Oh God OP I am so so so embarrassed for you right now
