Just that really. Check out their site as is my civic duty as a Mumsnetter and now The Kooples are crawling all over my online life and all I can think is 'expensive tat?'

I clicked on a post 'is this ok to wear to a wedding' or something similar.

I'm now seeing the butterfly cheap looking tea dress constantly.

It's been reduced as well

NoSpamPam · 13/05/2016 11:49

Oh not that fugly dress again

NannawifeofBaldr · 13/05/2016 11:51

Oh yes, right there with you.

I wouldn't mind so much if I liked any of their stuff.

poorbuthappy · 13/05/2016 11:52

The bastard harness thing keeps popping up on my phone.

teafortoads · 13/05/2016 12:01

How do i make it stop?! Next time i'm staying well out of the debate (though I am quite curious how well they would machine wash). I haven't viewed 'the bastard-harness-thing' but will now have to have a look aaargh will it ever end?).

I'm getting the same. Just google something you like and click on the link? Then they'll switch to that.

Don't really see the point of advertising something to people who have already expressed an interest in it. Like selling ice to eskimos.

Treeroot · 13/05/2016 12:07

I feel your annoyance.

WorraLiberty · 13/05/2016 12:13

Don't you just clear your cookies/files/history?

It works for me.

Dvallin · 13/05/2016 12:18

I have a shit list, and Crieff Hydro and The Kooples (ugly, ugly name) are both on there.

If I want to pay hundreds of pounds for a dress that looks like it walked out of BHS, I will get one from a company that isn't spamming my phone.

Luckily my PC has an Adblocker.

MorticiaLiverish · 13/05/2016 12:20

I thought it was just me. One look at a feather print 'is this too bridal looking' silk dress and now I'm bombarded! I wouldn't mind but I can't afford their stuff and probably can't fit into any it either!

squoosh · 13/05/2016 12:23

Ha. Consider yourself lucky.

I (like the fool I am) once clicked on a link for..........I'm almost ashamed to type it....................HOTTER SHOES. I know, awful! And I was haunted by those monstrosities for weeks. No matter what other link I clicked on bloody Hotter 'ugly as fuck' shoes clung on.

Only1scoop · 13/05/2016 12:24

I'm just relieved those m&s leather crops of great beauty aren't adorning my screen.

I'm not so lucky, they're following me everywhere. But they are just SO hideous they actually make me laugh.

tinyterrors · 13/05/2016 14:42

I've got it too, and the strip creiff hydro. I only looked at them once and now they won't sod off.

Tbh things like that put me off buying from companies, along with those twee "did you forget something" emails if you've got things in your shopping bag on a website.

ThenBellaDidSomethingVeryKind · 13/05/2016 14:45

Sqoosh maybe we were on the same thread!? I also have Hotter shoes links popping up everywhere

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 13/05/2016 16:25

Me too and it's not likely that I'd ever buy anything from there- overpriced stuff. I only looked because I'm looking for an outfit for a wedding.

Tallyballyhoo · 13/05/2016 16:29

Glad it's not just me - one teensy look and kooples is following me around the Internet like a lingering fart

pearlylum · 13/05/2016 16:44

I just use Adblock. Easy.

This is the trouble when you enable cookies. But Adblock will stop the annoying stuff. You can block it for certain sites that need tracking like topcashback.

karalime · 13/05/2016 16:44

It's ad retargetting.

Once I was innocently looking at wedding dresses, my then new boyfriend got very confused when he went to use my laptop and the ads kept appearing!

Either google something else or install Adblock, I suggest the latter!

Another thing I've noticed is that quite a few links from different posters go through webgains affiliate links...

So be wary of who recommends things and where links take you because someone is getting a cut.

teafortoads · 13/05/2016 18:03

Adblock type things sound very good thankyou. I grew up in an ancient time when school had a single lonely computer gathering dust in the corner of the room therefore I shall have to ask a technologically competent person to have a look at my laptop.

It suddenly dawned on me what The Kooples is all about - If spending £250 on a piece of nylon (paying lipservice to silk) is a problem then you are too skint for The Kooples. I am going to start my own Kooples' tribute label and it will be advertised for example, by 'Toad and ex Toad, now sadly estranged following a lie regarding secondary infertility, months of emotional abuse and a particularly nasty case of domestic violence'. Very aspirational?
