AIBU to be a bit annoyed that none of my friends/family have tagged me in the motherhood challenge on Facebook?

I know it's silly, & I don't even like Facebook that much, but I am a bit annoyed that no one ever tags/ nominates me in any of these 'wonderful mum' things.

It's also being described as the motherhood dare
Confused

snowymountaintops · 13/05/2016 11:17

Every time I see one I get irrational irate wondering what on earth the challenge is exactly?! No-one has tagged me and I wasn't tagged for the ice bucket thing which did make me wonder why in a vaguely disinterested but also in a bit put out manner!

I am not sure about offending people, I think potentially there are so many offensive or upsetting things on FB it would be hard to cover all of them and if you avoided everything that could offend it might be hard to post much at all. My mum died a few years ago but I don't get upset when people post pictures of their mums, that would be just daft.

harryhausen · 13/05/2016 11:28

I got tagged for the no make-up challenge a few years ago. I posted a pic of Beaker from the muppets. It was amazing how many people were amused through gritted teeth and re-tagged me to do it properly.

I didn't.

Unicow · 13/05/2016 11:44

I find it insensitive bull. I am delighted not to have been tagged,

PhylumChordata · 13/05/2016 12:04

The best mothers I know aren't on Facebook. They're in the present doing stuff with their kids not twatting around with selfies

PaulAnkaTheDog · 13/05/2016 12:06

The best mothers I know aren't on Facebook.

Well that's a lot of sanctimonious twaddle. People can use social media and not post selfies and inane drivel. People can also use social media and not have it affect their parenting.

sassolino · 13/05/2016 12:08

I'm annoyed that I was tagged. I hate all the cut and paste thing.
Or another FB pet hate of mine is - Share this image/slogan if you love someone with Autism/Dementia etc etc.
Yes, I do love someone with Autism, but if I don't share this crap, what, my love is diminished?

PuppyMonkey · 13/05/2016 12:09

A mum from school passive aggressively tagged a whole load of other mums but not me. I passive aggressively liked her photo back. Such fun. Grin

I've just been tagged by someone else and am ignoring.

I proudly never did the no-makeup or ice-bucket challenges either. Go me.

icanteven · 13/05/2016 12:16

The utter cringe of being tagged, though, right? I'm not friends with anybody on FB who would think that was a fun thing to do.

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 13/05/2016 12:20

My friends know better than to try and involve me in such utter shite. (Not that many of them would do it either.)

Brieandstilton · 13/05/2016 12:22

I've been tagged. Motherhood has been driving me slightly insane lately and tomorrow, in an effort to relax, I'm going for a civilised dinner at a friend's house. I'm gagging for the lovely bottle of wine I've bought, so I'm going to take a photo of that.

jollyjapes · 13/05/2016 12:26

Also tagged (by the only person whoever infects my fb with this shit!) and ignored. Its such needy bollox really isn't it?

Randomposter · 13/05/2016 12:32

Yes it is bollox, but most of FB is. I admire anyone who isn't on it tbh as they clearly have better things to do, or don't want to inflict endless selfies/boring updates onto people who couldn't give a toss.

OP posts:
belleandsnowwhite · 13/05/2016 12:35

Nobody ever tags me. It doesn't bother me as I know I will never get tagged. I don't have many fb friends anyway.

Natsku · 13/05/2016 12:41

No one has tagged me either, thank fuck. Probably because the few times someone has tagged me in one of these silly things I've posted on their post that no way am I going to do any stupid challenge.

ToniWol · 13/05/2016 13:10

Not been tagged either. And I don't do the C&P / share this post crap either. I will share articles/petitions that resonate though.

No ice bucket, but I did do the no Make-up selfie after Cancer Research had snapped it up (although not a challenge as I rarely wear make-up).

Tell them you're getting pissed in a nightclub somewhere.

Fettuccinecarbonara · 13/05/2016 20:02

Didn't you worry about this a few months back OP?

I'm fucking DELIGHTED no one has tagged me.

Froginapan · 13/05/2016 20:07

I'd be proud that I've not been tagged in the most sexist, annoying and pointless FB challenge ever (and I am proud that my friends list is eschewing this ridiculous challenge)

Randomposter · 13/05/2016 20:08

Eh, no. I've never posted about not being tagged on Facebook before.

OP posts:
Noodledoodledoo · 13/05/2016 20:19

I am the same - never get tagged in these things. Just think I am too far down peoples lists of friends to think of.

This one irritates but I must admit I was pleased when it was the ice bucket challenge!!!

The no make up challenge I was tagged in but wasn't a challenge as I never wear any! I did it and donated as its a charity I support.

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 13/05/2016 21:03

Sexlube just ignore it?

IDontBelieveAnything · 13/05/2016 21:12

Thanks for reminding me why Im not on Facebook.

I've no idea what a motherhood challenge is but it sound crap!
