I was watching the most popular TV morning show today - Today Show - and SURPRISE they already had this discussion as one of their main topics! I was shocked because I read through the entire previous threads from start to finish.

I hope yall can see it in the UK. Too funny.

It's just a funny thing they do because drinking in general is fairly taboo here - most folks don't drink a lot. I'm not sure if I've ever seen them drink more than a few sips...but they are pretty funny overall. For a morning show when you don't want to hear too much droning on.

MNHQ have already stated on previous threads that they have checked and have no reason to believe the OP is telling lies.

MrsBlimey · 12/05/2016 23:12

It was a fairly big segment of R4's News Quiz when it was recorded tonight in Ipswich ready for broadcast tomorrow. Sadly though they never mentioned once that a few folk suggested that the cheque be cancelled.

Milk - and they have no way of knowing that she was fibbing.

PeaceLoveGonk · 12/05/2016 23:17

Wasn't fibbing!

TeradelFuego · 13/05/2016 02:49

link doesnt work?

KatherineMumsnet · 13/05/2016 10:23

This is, after all, the internet, and there is sadly no cast-iron guarantee that anyone is who they say they are.

HOWever, can we ask that folk don't derail the thread with troll-hunting, please? We have no reason to believe that the OP is not genuine. If you have doubts, please report to us rather than posting on the thread.

As you were

TeradelFuego - I think it was working for others. If I have time I'll try to find it on YouTube. But from viewers across the country the overwhelming response was about 90% the couple was being extremely rude and breaking etiquette.

**The couple obviously being the bridal couple, not the other way round.

BaldBaby1970 · 14/05/2016 10:23

I heard it referenced on the News Quiz too. I wonder if the bride and groom have heard/seen it referenced? I must say it makes me think twice about posting anything on here for fear it might picked up and broadcast further afield than Mumsnet.

The number of threads about it now has in my opinion become tedious

I couldn't agree more - and while I'm very grateful for the excellent advice from so many posters on the first one (and a few laughs we've shared along the way Smile) I do have to wonder why folk have started thread after thread after thread on the same thing
