Justine, I interpret your message to mean that you aren't colluding with any journos by licensing content to them, which I hope is the case. YOur site T&Cs are however rather outdated in the terms of the breadth of scope that you have to use content posted here for your own commercial purposes without consent / sharing. That could happily be limited to what's required for you to run the service and the publications you make under the MN name (someone reminded me that you did books a while back). It seems rather overreaching as it is, and is much further than any of the significant social networks go. Maybe the lawyers could give them a health check / update too?

Yes we'll do that too. Thanks for the input.

I'm not immature, I'm naive. I guess I just stupidly thought that a place of annoymised support, should be regarded as a place of sanctity for want of a better word, for those who really need it

You are a bit naive if you really thought that.

Why is the "do you dunk your penis" the top trending thread now?

It was linked in a blog earlier today - the Unmumsy one, I think.

blinkowl · 13/05/2016 13:28

I think I read somewhere that trending includes links/social media mentions. If lots of people are sharing the wedding story maybe they're mentioning penis beaker (again) so it's coming up in trending.

I may have imagined that though so don't take it as read!

blinkowl · 13/05/2016 13:30

Or maybe it's based on people viewin it so if someone links it and lots if people follow the link it shows up in trending?

crazy

PlectrumElectrum · 31/05/2016 22:21

Is there any update on MN position on this yet? It's clearly a regular feature now for the daily mail so it would be good to know that the issues raised have been addressed & what the outcome is with the legal advice that was being sought.

wasonthelist · 31/05/2016 22:46

Don't buy the Daily Heil or click on their website, ever, anyone. That will stop it.

eyelevelgrill · 13/12/2016 12:37

Dear MNHQ

I thought I'd bump this rather than start a new thread.

I wasn't clear on the position: have you sub-licensed your copyright licence to the Daily Mail? Or are they acting off their own bat.
