Some people have no shame

Exactly it was saying because the poor don't have a choice, they don't have accountants and access to advice and all our money goes on food, electric, gas, phone bills etc

DuckAndPancakes · 11/05/2016 15:21

They're "advertising" it because people want to know about it.

Again, are we going to start telling people on benefits what they can and can't spend their money on and remind the people that do well in life that they're the scum of the earth if they don't give it all away and live a life of mediocrity to keep everyone happy.

Hopeisallihavenow · 11/05/2016 15:26

£30k rattle? Absurd amount of money to spend on a rattle but I really do not understand why anyone would get worked up about rich people spending their riches on whatever outrageous thing they choose to spend on.

unexpsoc · 11/05/2016 15:28

"They're "advertising" it because people want to know about it. "

People want to know about it because they have fuck all. If you have nothing you want to look at what other people have and either be indignant and outraged or aspire to it and believe you can have it one day. These are both perpetuated by the meeja - which is controlled by the Super Rich.

The truth is that apart from VERY rare occasions you are not allowed it. One or two sneak through every so often to whet your appetite. But most of the world's wealth is held by 68 families - and they haven't changed for a long, long, long time.

They hold on to their wealth by controlling media interests and government and not paying their taxes. Everyone is raised within that system and the system is designed to make you feel it is normal. Obviously then, it is perfectly acceptable to believe that. It has been forced down your throat.

You don't want to know about it. You really want to get it yourself. You wont, but its nice to dream.

unexpsoc · 11/05/2016 15:35

Sorry - my last post was bullshit - not paying attention due to the exhaustion that you can only get from being denied sleep by your darling children.

1% of the worlds population own 50% of the wealth, 68 families own the same amount as the poorest 50% of the worlds population. Mismatched 2 statistics. Apologies.

minatiae · 11/05/2016 15:37

However much money a person has, a lot or a little, it's nobody else's business how they spend it. It's theirs.

OnceThereWasThisGirlWho · 11/05/2016 15:48

What, no-one's mentioned this yet? Grin

MrsJayy · 11/05/2016 16:39

If i had tamaras money I wouldwaste it on crap too we all would it is because we dont know what its like to have 10k playhouses we cant comprehend having that much money yes some might be generous but you cant solve poverty

greybead · 11/05/2016 16:46

We live in a free society. I don't think we should try and dictate how these rich people spend their money. Perhaps she gives a load of money to charity. Regardless, that £10k has fuelled the economy. Some of it will go directly to government as VAT - wonderful, more funds for the state. Some will have paid the carpenter who made it - great, income for them which they then must pay income tax on - more for the state. I honestly don't see the problem with her spending money this way. It's actually better than if she was hoarding it.

limitedperiodonly · 11/05/2016 17:00

We could make an example of Tamara like Madame Du Barry.

They're easy targets, these silly women

OhSoggyBiscuit · 11/05/2016 17:01

The media has worked its magic then, yet again driving people against each other and creating hostility. Rich people vs poor people, working people vs people on benefits...I hate what the media has done to society.

LunaLoveg00d · 11/05/2016 17:03

Love a bit of inverse snobbery.

Couldn't care less what Tamara is spending on her child.

dadwithadaughter · 11/05/2016 17:04

I still think it's a nice playhouse

MrsJayy · 11/05/2016 17:10

So do I bugger letting a kid play in it I want to play in it

ToastDemon · 11/05/2016 17:14

I think the fact that the super-rich have a vast amount of the world's wealth while half the globe is in poverty is fucking obscene.
I suppose what they spent it on is neither here nor there.

Andro · 11/05/2016 17:18

I've got an idea. Why doesn't she spend a couple of hundred quid on a playhouse like normal people and give nine grand to charity. Then her daughter might not become a horrible spoilt brat.

Being raised with money does not make you horrible, spoilt or a brat; being raised without being taught manners, appreciation, respect or self discipline most likely will.

MrsJayy · 11/05/2016 17:24

Money and stuff does not make children horrible and brats I know quite a few bratty kids who dont have 10k playhouses

Mrskeats · 11/05/2016 17:28

What I partly object to is the likes of TE being held up as someone to aspire to
Surely there are people doing amazing things in the world?

Very true.

And this is probably exactly why people cheer Bernie Ecclestone on.

He was the son of a fisherman who went to a polytechnic, and amassed himself a £4bn personal fortune through his own business acumen in developing the Formula One brand.

whois · 11/05/2016 17:35

That play house is AWESOME

She's not and there are. You can learn of them unless your reading material is confined exclusively to Hello! or the Daily Mail. Sometimes worthwhile people pop up in the Mail. I seem to remember them doing something on the Dalai Lama once.

Tamara was slagged off in Saturday's Mail for allegedly allowing her child to get sunburnt. As I've said many times before, I buy the Mail on a Saturday for their excellent TV guide and social views, so that's why I spotted it.

eleven59 · 11/05/2016 18:48

Of course it is her money and she can do what she wants with it but its a horrible illustration of the stark difference in the lives of the rich and poor. We are not born with the same chances.

Also I don't care if she's raised 'well over £2m' for charity by organising star studded events. She could give that amount and not even miss it.

MrsJayy · 11/05/2016 19:10

She is in a celeb mag with her daughter lots of peoplw read it for how the other other half live she isnt claiming to be aspirational
