I agree, it feels intrusive. But a harsh reminder that the Internet is not a private place and once you've put something on there it's there forever.

What's to stop a journalist from creating an account and logging in?
It's a public forum and as such anything that you post is made public. If you don't want that to happen, post on a secret/closed group or don't post at all.

Loads of journalists are signed up anyway. It wouldn't make a difference
