AIBU to think aloe vera is pronounced 'allo veera' and not 'ah verrrr'?

As per stupid radio advert proclaiming the weight loss properties of 'ah verrr' [breathy voice].
It was only after I'd heard it a few times that I realised they were talking about bloody aloe vera.

Vera was her husband's first wife - iirc he was dragging his heels over leaving her or something and generally being a shit. A Low Vera was a bitchy dig at her - and the last time I could think anything positive about Julia Roberts.

A Low Vera was a play on Aloe Vera - it meant that Vera (the first wife) was behaving in a low way by not consenting to a divorce or whatever it was that she wasn't doing.

Was Vera short as in low? or was it A low as in allow the divorce? Really not that clever either way.
