To ask how much and how often you drink alcohol?

I'm trying to cut back on alcohol for all the usual reasons: to cut back on calories, health benefits, save money...

Just as a barometer for the "norm" (and sheer curiosity) how often and how much alcohol do you drink?

3/4 bottles of wine a week.

I should imagine I'm in the "heavy drinker" catagory. I don't usually drink at all during the week and am trying to limit myself to one day at weekends. This weekend I did end up having 2 vodka and diet cokes on Friday night as a friend popped in. Saturday I drank a bottle of prosecco, a mojito and then probably about 10 vodka's. Obviously I lost count. This is not unusual on a night out.

Don't drink Monday to Friday but share a bottle of wine with DH Sat and Sunday. Sometimes also a cheeky G&T while I'm cooking on Sunday.
If I go out it could well be a bit more-but I don't go out often...

And umbongos post shows why people don't bother being honest on these threads.

I wasn't being mean I'm genuinely impressed. I wouldn't be able to function on that.

Low to average drinker I'd say.

I would average about 6-8 bottles of beer averaged out a across four or so nights a week. I don't/can't binge drink or enjoy any more than 2 beers in any one session.

Last weekend I had a bottle of wine and three pints of cider.

Last week I had 2 G&T's, 1 Vodka & Soda, 2 Schnapps nightcaps, 1 bottle of wine, 1 glass of wine, 1 half of cider.

Ha! I thought I hadn't had that much either.

I generally limit my drinking to Friday/Saturday.

About one or two drinks a month, usually when out with DH or friends, I rarely drink at home.

Varies from week to week, depending on what's happening at the weekend.

Sunday to Thursday - very little. Might have a G & T one or two nights, or one beer.
Weekends - if we stay in, I might have a G & T or two, or we might share a bottle of wine. If we go out for a meal, I'd probably have a G &T and 2-3 glasses of wine.

If we go to a party (like this weekend), I might have so many G & Ts that I lose count, plus Pimms, plus wine and then feel like death all day Sunday. But that's rare.

Until recently I guess about 20-30 cans of normal strength lager a week. Honest enough for you? .

Sod all really. Maybe a cider or a g&t once a month, more in summer
Unless I go out, I'll admit to then drinking 2-3 bottles of wine, 5-6 shots and probably another 3-6 g&t

Also three or four bottles a week, one a night from Weds through to Saturday, although I don't always drink on Saturday or Thursday nights so sometimes less.

Usually in social situations, Christmas and warm weather is when I drink. I don't drink to get drunk though, it also depends on what it is I'm drinking.

I only really like cider (Koppaberg, Old Mout etc) and spirits + mixers. With cider, I can easily drink 3 at time but with spirits + mixers, it depends whether it's a single or double and the ratio of rum/vodka to juice!

In the last 7 days I have been out twice. On a school night I had 3 pints of weakish lager. the following night I had about 6 pints and a tequila. Hardly ever drink at home but I know I drink far far too much. Family parties are the worst, cocktails, shots etc and stay up untill the sun comes up.

Last week I had more than usual as we were entertaining:

3 glasses of wine and a spritzer on Friday night (that's a big night for me)
1.5 pints beer on Saturday afternoon
One glass wine last night

Normally I'll have maybe a bottle of wine over the course of a week, almost always at weekends.

I'm trying to cut down too OP. Thinking of cutting it out entirely as I need to lose weight and I think it makes me eat more!

I drink very little or nothing during the week then lots at the weekend. A bottle of wine or more on Friday and Saturday.

2 large glasses of wine on a Friday and Saturday night.

Sometimes a glass or 2 midweek, during school holidays as I don't have work the next day.

3 or 4 bottles of wine a week. I don't drunk mon/tues/weds but then can easily have a whole bottle on the other nights.

I'm fully aware that it's too much and I intend to stop completely for a while because I want to lose weight. Cutting down wouldn't work...I'm incapable of moderation.

Nothing Monday to Thursday unless going out with friends (perhaps once a month) . Over the weekend will have maybe one or two bottles of beer a night, or split a bottle of wine with husband (we'd finish a bottle between us in an evening).
