AIBU to let the visa stress me out? Also advice needed

Long story short- I work as an operations analyst in an investment bank and my existing role was moving externally.

I managed to get a job offer today (Yayyy) for another role in the bank- this is also operations and I'll still be an analyst- within the same bank, same corporate title.

However, the catch is that I'm on a Tier 2 visa. And apparently HR need to make sure there aren't any barriers to King me over before confirming anything.

I think I should be able to continue under same visa?! It's still an analyst role within financial services... Instead of commodities, I'll now be working with equities and FX clients.

Same job, different products.

Would I need to Put in another visa application? Wouldn't I continue under the same one?

Well some parts of the role are different- like less settlements, more reporting and contracts.

I am pretty sure that you will need a new visa www.gov.uk/tier-2-general . Does your visa, entry stamp or residence permit have the name of your sponsor on it? If so then you will probably have to apply to the Home Office for a new residence permit or return home and get a new visa. But you really need to either ask the Home Office or an immigration advisor. Sorry :(

I think you'll be OK, actually. This page : www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/extend-your-visa suggests that staying with the same employer in a job that is basically the same (so would come under the same standard occupation classification code) is OK, and doesn't need a new visa.

This is for the UK.

Based on my research, I should be able to continue with the same visa but I obviously can't be sure. I was hoping that perhaps someone else with similar experience could elaborate.

My fingers are crossed- I really can't afford the delay that would come with e new visa application at this stage.
