powershowerforanhour · 07/05/2016 07:27

I used to live in hay on wye and loved it

LarrytheCucumber · 07/05/2016 07:27

Where I live now. Most people have never heard of it, but we like it that way Wink

WordGetsAround · 07/05/2016 07:32

Enrique - no, not mrsb, just plain old me! Are you telling me there's a poster who lives in Etchingham with a holiday house in Orford??

If money was no issue is have a flat in Pimlico too!

ProfessorPreciseaBug · 07/05/2016 07:37

I know the question was about where in the UK.... but Probably France.

We are as highly taxed as France. But you get better food, bettr roads, less overcrowding and better sunshine...

Ifailed · 07/05/2016 07:40

I would like to have a large house in London, near to Green Park, another large house convenient for Heathrow, another place in Edinburgh and one in County Down. Of course a nice estate in Aberdeen to get away from it all, and country get-away in Norfolk.

YaySirNaySir · 07/05/2016 07:40

Cottage in Mousehole, Cornwall
I love it where we are though. (minutes from the Peak district)

heron98 · 07/05/2016 07:41

I would live where I live now: West Yorkshire.

I live in a very green area and I can walk from my back door to Bowness on Windermere (if I had two weeks!) via the Dales Way barely hitting a single road.

I can be in the Dales, the Lakes, the Pennines, the Peak District or the North York Moors in less than 2 hours, in some cases less than one.

Such a wealth of landscapes to visit. I go somewhere new every weekend.

My own city has lots to do, excellent walking and cycling facilities and an excellent music scene.

WordGetsAround · 07/05/2016 07:42

Ifailed - you've reminded me - I'll have a house in Strangford, NI, too!

notamummy10 · 07/05/2016 07:43

Dorset!

weegiemum · 07/05/2016 07:45

I'm content.

Either Glasgow, which is where I live now

Or the Outer Hebrides where we used to live and still have a house.

Paulat2112 · 07/05/2016 07:45

Thorntonhall. Just need to win the lottery

Spermysextowel · 07/05/2016 07:47

I love the UK. Haven't had a holiday abroad for about 15 years. I just choose somewhere with good places to eat & lots to see. As long as I don't have to cook & the boys don't have to make appreciative noises it's a holiday.
Have very fond memories of Caswell Bay as we went there often as children.

blueskyinmarch · 07/05/2016 07:50

I would stay exactly where i am now. Someone upthread has mentioned where i live as the place they would like to live.

HoneyDragon · 07/05/2016 07:50

Hogsmeade.

JeanGenie23 · 07/05/2016 07:51

Cullercoats, Newcastle. I have family there and dream of returning!

JeanGenie23 · 07/05/2016 07:52

Or hogsmeade with Honey Dragon Blush

Temporaryanonymity · 07/05/2016 07:54

Llangrannog, right opposite the beach.

frikadela01 · 07/05/2016 07:56

Anywhere that is mostly countryside within yorkshire.... preferably the dales but I also love the north york moors. I will never leave yorkshire!

ajandjjmum · 07/05/2016 07:57

Apartment in central London overlooking the river, and house in Dorset. We can all dream.....

Capricorn76 · 07/05/2016 07:57

Where I live. North East London.

Claraoswald36 · 07/05/2016 07:59

Kingsbridge (south hams), Cambridge is nice.
I smiled at the first few posts because I'm from Mumbles. My dad loved it.
I'm happy here in plymstock. There's a park at the end of the road with amazing wildlife and even kingfishers. Beaches are 10 minutes away as are country estates and Dartmoor. You can hear a pin drop at night and crime is rare.
I hate Plymouth though and avoid it as much as I can.

GingerIvy · 07/05/2016 08:01

As a first choice, Edinburgh or Aberdeen, but as that's not an option (can't take the dcs that far from ex - wouldn't be fair on the dcs), then London is my second choice. We're moving there this summer. Can't wait!!

Vaara · 07/05/2016 08:04

Oh there are so many beautiful places in the uk!

Herefordshire, Shropshire, Northumberland, Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon, Yorkshire Dales.... Anywhere rural really.

MissHooliesCardigan · 07/05/2016 08:04

The Oxo tower on the South Bank with a cottage in Dorset.
