To Vote Green at the London Mayoral election

I have always been a Labour voter but I just don't feel that inspired by Sadiq's policies and him as a potential Mayor. None the less I was still planning on voting for Labour as my first choice and then Green as my second mainly as a tactical vote to avoid awful Zac.

But over the last few days I have really felt that Siân Berry and the Green campaign is actually what London needs and now I think I am going to vote Green as my first choice then Labour second.

So AIBU to vote Green, would that really just be a gift to the dreaded Tories? A few people have told me it is a wasted vote but shouldn't we vote for who we want and not through fear?

Of course you are wasting your first choice if you do that. Plan A is a perfectly good one. YABU.

Male supremacy party? really? I think it was unfortunate wording that backfired when they were trying to be inclusive. Silly Tweet - In my opinion nothing more and nothing less. They are hardly the only party to say something stupid! I am a 'non man' aka a woman and to me it was a mistake but not really a big deal.

If there was a male supremacy party surely it would be the party consisting of the most Bullingdon Club members. Privileged boys club sticking together!

I was also considering voting Green but two things have now put me off.

1. The aforementioned 'non-men' nonsense. I'm a feminist and I cannot agree with their approach to this.

1. Their decision not to call for their supporters to vote Labour with their second preference vote. I'm no fan of Sadiq but if the Greens can't see that a Sadiq mayoralty is preferable to Zac Goldsmith in City Hall then I really can't bring myself to support them. With all that said, provided you give your second preference vote to Sadiq, there's almost no risk that voting Green with your first preference will give the election to the Tories. For that to happen Goldsmith would have to have received more than 50% of the votes before the Green Party second preference votes were allocated and judging from the polls that's extremely unlikely to happen.

I am not sure how I am going to vote either but not ZG I would have considered The Green Party but not after the non-men

There is no problem whatsoever in using your first preference to vote Green, or Lib Dem or WEP, or Cannabis is Safer than Alcohol or even sodding Galloway, and then picking whichever of the big 2 you hate less for your second choice. Goldsmith is not going to get over 50% of the first vote. Voting for a minority party with your second preference is just weird because that won't even be counted.

it is democracy, you vote for who you believe in. Or the least worst option.

I don't like tactical voting, but it is your call. I don't like the Greens either, but it is your call. And I don't live in London so it doesn't affect me!

Their PPB, was fantastic. I don't think it's a wasted vote if you truly believe in their policies. All I would say, is look at would they've done in Brighton....

Vote Green as your first choice and Labour as 2nd, given your views, and for the Greens on the London Assembly.
