To want smart trousers for a chubby thighed toddler without making him look like he'a wearing a straight jacket

All the pairs I've tried stop him moving freely, which I hate - toddlers are supposed to run/climb etc. Normally I only ever buy jersey trousers so don't have a problem but we have an EVENT coming up and really need something smarter (think chinos rather than suit-type trousers). I can't spend more than £20. Size 2-3years. Where can I look?

Not sure, but toddler legs are probably the best thing ever. Sorry- not helpful

H&M? They have adjustable waists so you could size up to fit his legs better, but tighten the waist for a good fit.

M&S have a 2-piece set of chinos in navy and camel - they are really nice, comfy and well made. They look smartish most of the time but if you could be arsed to iron them they would look very. I buy my beast of a 16m size 2-3 but I do have to hem the legs a little.

Will have a look, thanks! Deadgood, they are rather lovely, you're right!

Just go up a size? Or 2?
Most toddler trousers have waist adjustments on them so they fit
