My name is not Barry

I'm sure I'm just being a cow here, but since I got married last week I've had several cards/letters addressed to 'Mrs Barry Sizeofalentil*'.

My name is not Barry - that's my husband's name. I didn't erase my full name and take his.

And it's not just wedding stuff - it's other letters etc, so not people trying to be cute.

Am I wrong to be slightly fucked off by this? The timing was quite poor - was telling husband I felt like my identity and old life was being slowly erased and then these came in the post.

Ah baz , that is indeed annoying. Fortunately DH and I have the same first initial so mr and mrs r flower doesn't bother me. What did make me laugh though is that DH is foreign and my extended family are so dozy they couldn't remember it - so they just used to make up a name. Like he's riccardo and they'd iust write Dear rainbow and Fabio, or dear rainbow and luigi inside cards. So lazy and ignorant and made me laugh lots

And it's true you'll become mini Barry's mum if you have kids. I don't even bother saying hi it's rainbow any more to nursery staff and doctors. Just it's mini riccardo's mum

Even other kids will address you as 'mini Barry's mum' it's just another thing you have to consider choosing names, does it go with 's mum?

To be fair Barry. You have signed up to this of your own free will. I have been shacked up with DP for 25 years, we have our own surnames and the kids surname is LittleLaugh NiceBoyfriend

But even my mates, heck even my family, address stuff to me as Tinkly LittleLaugh NiceBoyfriend. It's like I have got married without knowing about it.
