It's very sad that her life has gone that way and she has so little self worth :(

Not sad. Deluded and absorbed, I agree. But hey, who am I to comment beyond this? I couldn't read past 30 seconds, and that was tough going.

CheeseToastie123 · 26/04/2016 08:47

Either that, or it was self indulgent tosh. I mean, who throws a party in celebration of their own life?

I did. My party for a significant birthday actually fell on the day after my birthday - a better day for a party but also the more significant date for me. It meant I had then lived as long after my suicide attempt as I had before it. And that every day after that, it would be that I survived longer after than before. Not many people at the party knew but it was a huge celebration for me, with a lot of the people there being why I was still alive. I regard it as very far from self indulgent tosh. It was an unspoken thank you to people who don't even know what they've done for me.

Lumpy - only the deserving mentally unwell, it seems.

MerrilySlidingAway · 26/04/2016 09:03

I don't think it's laughing at mental illness to disagree that this is 'the saddest thing ever '. It's sad. Not saddest ever. That's all. It's not disparaging to point that out

lasttimeround · 26/04/2016 11:01

'I always thought people who have lots of tattoos have mh problems.'
Why?

SaucyJack · 26/04/2016 11:18

" but she has suffered with MH and addictions and yes, that is sad and doesn't derserve such sneering and nastiness."

Maybe she didn't deserve sneering, but if I spent my time crying over everyone I'd ever met who'd done something stupid as a result of MH or alcohol problems then I'd never get anything done.

Honestly. This is very, very unremarkable stuff. Daily life for about half my FB feed.

I appreciate that this has triggered something for the OP tho, and I'm sorry if you're having a shitty week.

'I always thought people who have lots of tattoos have mh problems.'
Why?

I'd like to see the reasoning behind this too.

She's having some tattoos removed, she didn't lose a limb.

WindPowerRanger · 26/04/2016 12:05

The thread title and first post were over-egged, certainly, but I do think people are being too hard on the OP. She read the blog. It affected her deeply. We all experience that:- suddenly being touched by someone's story and feeling great empathy, or at least I hope we do.

Booboostwo · 26/04/2016 12:06

I saw a video of a disoriented a severely malnourished two year old who had been abandoned by his family for being a witch. That was sad, devastatingly sad. This woman has had a troubling life but still appears incredibly self-absorbed.

Can I just point out that I sad one of the saddest not the saddest
Perhaps those being so over-critical would like to take note of that; I think her situation is very sad, I still think that. No wonder people with MH issues don't feel comfortable letting people know and hide it.

If you meant that it is one of the 100,000 saddest stories you have ever read, maybe YANBU.
