AIBU?

Or do other people have THAT PERSON as well?

That Person who you irrationally dislike be they a celeb, someone you know, or a family member, the criteria being they are harmless and have done nothing to warrant your dislike of them except their very personality?

And you know that the fact you don't like them is really unreasonable but they make you absolutely seethe?

Or AIBU?

Tom Cruise. Not an original choice I know, but my loathing goes back to the very beginning of his career when we were all supposed to fancy him. I would like to wipe him off the face of the earth.

Kay Burley - but it's odd because watching her is like finding yourself rubbernecking at a terrible accident. You know you shouldn't and it's not making you happy but you somehow just can't stop! She comes across as a total bitch and a disliker of other women and I'm sure that's not far from the truth in real life too.

Oh God, Jamila Jamil. I'm sure she's lovely but she's just sooo pleased with herself!

The woman who plays Helen in the Archers. This is based on nothing more than the fact that she doesn't look like Helen (or the idea I have of her in my head) and every time I see that photo of her and Rob with her looking at the camera in a 'this is a very serious ishoo here' manner I want to slap her.

And Katherine Jenkins too - this is a hatred my FIL and I bond over, neither of us can stand her and we have no idea why.

THere was a tv presenter around at the same time as Denise Van Outen and was very similar - young, blonde, pretty - but just so bloody vapid it made me shout things at the telly. No idea why.

Peter Andre. Absolutely despise the smug, arrogant arsehole.

Bono. Read an article once and he was in Africa talking about the plight of the children, hugging them and doing lots of sad faces. He went on to say how awful the public are and that we need to send money to them now and stop being so self absorbed. There he was in his Gucci sunglasses and Rolex watch lecturing me about how I spend my money. Fuck right off Bono you self righteous hippocrocopig

Someone I was at school with went on to be an actor. He was a support actor in a good few popular programs.
He's a perfectly nice chap and I'm pleased he's doing well but I can't watch anything with him in without getting grumpy.
He turned up in a program I really liked and I thought 'well that's ruined now'.

Our really kind ndn. Always offering to babysit, complimenting our home etc but we can't stand the woman! She is pretty nosy and does peer in as she walks past, but as neighbours go is fine!

Pixie Lott. When she was on scd the other year I used to forward past her bits. I think it's her smile, it gets on the wrong side of me.

Also I've said this in a couple of other similar threads but Tom Fletcher. His wife seems lovely but there's something about him I don't like and never have. When mcfly were a big-ish deal my friends were fans, I wasn't so much but they made me go to a CD signing and he was the only one that didn't turn up, I was over the moon Grin. Just so smarmy and HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT ME AND MY WONDERFUL HAPPY LIFE WHERE NOTHING EVER GOES WRONG.

Actually I have a bit of an issue with overly happy people in general. Somethings got to give man, it's ok to be grumpy and sad sometimes! They just come from another fucking planet I swear.

I think people feel like that about me, esp other school mums. I'm really shy and don't talk to anyone at pick up, and it comes across as snobbishness. XH's family thought I was snobbish too- I'm not, just shit scared of a huge noisy family and their in-jokes...

Yes, I do! Never in real life but I cannot watch movies with Tom cruise, Russell Crowe or Nicholas cage. I can't watch interviews with them either, I absolutely hate them.

I particularly dislike the little girl lost type of woman.

Oh fuck yes to this. My ex best friend was this type and it's gone a long way towards why we're no longer friends. DH used to surround himself with these women - it must be some sort of 'saviour' complex at work.

Yes to Katherine Jenkins and Myleene Klass. Horrible.

There's a woman on the school run whose face sends me into a rage. I have no idea why. Her entire head makes me apoplectic.

Nicole Scherzinger. Really really dislike her, especially in the Muller adverts where she pretends to eat the yoghurt and gets it on her nose. As if she would actually eat it.

I've got a friend (used to be a good friend) but her Facebook persona is so monstrous, I'm not sure I can continue being friends. She just sounds so smug, indulges in blow-by-bow parenting posts; posts about her incredible husband, kids, house, armchair, and whinges about her cleaner, how hard it is to be a career mum even though she has a fulltime nanny and the aforementioned cleaner; she also has what DH and I call "the glee club" who always tell her she is gorgeous, amazing, clever and deserves a treat. Puketastic!

My friends fiancée.

She's grumpy and very opinionated. Over heard her once swearing about a child in my care and that was it for me.

I have no idea what friend sees in her as he's so different but horses for courses I guess.

Haha to lots of these! For me Chris Evans, can tolerate him on the radio just about but on tv he makes me switch off. And randomly he popped up in a kids film I was watching with my dds recently as the voice of a slug or something...really spoilt it for me Grin

MrsMarigold, good description, I agree! They drive me batty. It's usually for the sole 'benefit' of men and these women can turn remarkably nasty when people are immune to their charms.

Katherine.Jenkins. No idea what she's done to offend me.

She's just come on to Sunday Brunch and I snorted with disgust.

To make matters worse she just bought in some home made Welsh cakes and mentioned the fact she's had a baby this year. I snorted even louder.

DH said, 'so she's had a baby and made some cakes .. What a BITCH!' Grin

There's a woman at school who I can't stand, can't put my finger on why, but I think it's her walk and her hair Blush

There's another woman at school who cannot stand me, I can't figure out what I've done wrong, so now I just look through her/pretend she doesn't exist, but I can still manage to make her scowl!!

Nobody at the moment but several over the years. All of them I ignored my instincts and blamed myself for being snobby or xenophobic. All of them hurt me badly.

I have other friends I adore from all kinds of background, country etc so I really ought to have learned to trust my instincts by now!

Josie Long. I know EVERYONE adores her, she's a feminist, science lover, darling of radio 4 and the guardian and I should be in her fan club. But she winds me up so badly. It's because she actually strikes me as doing that "little girl"/Manic pixie dream girl thing despite all of the above. But I know I'll be hung out to dry Blush
