AIBU?

Or do other people have THAT PERSON as well?

That Person who you irrationally dislike be they a celeb, someone you know, or a family member, the criteria being they are harmless and have done nothing to warrant your dislike of them except their very personality?

And you know that the fact you don't like them is really unreasonable but they make you absolutely seethe?

Or AIBU?

Chris Packham. Genuinely no reason I can put my finger on. Never heard him say anything that wasn't completely benign, and he likes animals, which is a huge plus in his favour. But somehow I find him really annoying.

my husband's cousin on facebook and his cutesie messages to his wife

they are both so lovely but they are too perfect

she is just lovely

I would not say hate, but I am weary - or jealous that she is such a good and caring and giving daughter in law

mattdillon I know and loathe someone just like that. I always say she walks like a daddy long legs. And in the winter she wears this hideous crochet beret on the side of her head. I think she knitted it from her organic pubes. And she rides a bike, but not any old bike, nooooo, it's all Mary Poppins with bug curly handlebars and a basketweave basket, which always has a droopy bunch of wafty flowers in.

I have several.

Ben Shepherd - find him really smug and he's always making rude comments to his female co hosts. I imagine he'd act really superior and stuck up if you ever met him.

Kim Kardashian - acts very entitled and I lost all respect for her after her rude tweets to Chloe Moretz which suggested she was a nobody when Kim is actually the one with no talent.

A woman I know who is in the same line of work as me. She's really self-absorbed and socially unaware. We attended the same interview once and in front of all the other candidates, she asked the interviewer to recommend a place to live when she got the job. As if it was a foregone conclusion that she'd get the role (she didn't.)

Vicky Pattison the sanctimonious twat.
She's actually a privately educated graduate who went on Geordie Shore to Lord it over her younger, less privileged cast mates.
Her accent is fake, her boobs are fake, her hair, teeth and persona are fake.
She thinks she's fooling those less intelligent than her (loose women viewers)
She's a contrived, dumpy, nasty little shit.

Peter Andre.

Miley Cyrus.

Tess Daly. Please just dump your feckless philandering, Peter Pan of a husband.
He's making a fool of you. Again.
Then start to behave like a real person, please.

I'm this person to someone. I introduced myself to her when we were sat together at a kids party and she looked me up and down, made a slightly shocked "oh!" noise, and turned her back on me.

I'm a perfectly unremarkable looking woman. Everyone else was introducing themselves and chatting. Weird. Of course now I see her everywhere.

A woman in work, I can't stand her and have no reason why to, but I really hate her.
She has cottoned on and ignores me now.
I want to trip her up and push her in the bushes.

If I ever came face to face with a sloth I reckon it would get a punch in the face.

Oh yes to Chris Packham. He strikes me as seething with barely contained aggression and makes me feel really uncomfortable.

Also, dolphins ARE bastards. I agree it's partly the oh-so-cute-and-intelligent reputation that's annoying, but also they do do some really mean stuff.

shocking dolphin behaviour alert do not read if sensitive/new-agey about dolphins

She was just such a negative person, and I became terrified of her. I then decided I hated all her clothes. The day she retired I was so excited I couldn't get to sleep.

Oh I have pink/green/blue hair - in bunches but shaved a bit, I have every inch of my face pierced and bad tats and oh my clothes are so far out ....I want to scream YOU ALL LOOK THE FUCKING SAME

Holly willoughby

Mum at school who is just so perfect
Neighbour who has an annoying face
Man who works in Starbucks and is relentlessly cheerful.
In fact any relentlessly cheerful people
A relative I have who just looks annoyingly glaikit

I never show it obviously to the people who I see in real life. I just think it!

But a fellow school mum and I have it mutually for very little reason. It's daggers between us and has been for about 9 years.

Celebwise Cliff Richard weirds me out.

Paul McCartney just seems fake and he makes my skin crawl.

Lulu definitely needs a kick in the shins.

A woman I used to work with. Who was very nice and perfectly fine at her job and I really had no reason to dislike her. But I did. Intensely. She was just so squeaky. But not in a put on way, that was her actual voice. Argh now I just sound mean. But hey, you said irrational, right?

Report

I have totally been that person. A friend of a friend once had an extended rant about me (after said friend brought her to my birthday party) about how I was loud and attention seeking and a drama queen and couldn't I just stop talking and calm down and how could anyone endure me?

That really massively hurt as that birthday my mum was in the final stages of cancer. My dad had talked me into not cancelling my birthday and so I'd gone out but was really struggling to not collapse in a small miserable heap so I guess I overcompensated.

And then she met me in a club a year later, and, to add insult to injury, clearly didn't recognise me and tried to hit on me.

Another time a friend of a friend apparently told a friend she couldn't stand me as I was such a vapid piece of fluff. Friend, bless them, said I had a PhD. But I don't think the person was swayed.

Apparently I come across as a bit uber girlie and femme in person and some people don't like that. Their call. It has taught me to work really hard to not judge by appearances.

I work in the tattoo industry, so I see this all the time. It's true a lot of them follow a pattern, but what I always want to assure them is that nobody, NOBODY is looking at them, or my personal favourite, 'judging' them for being alternative and tattooed.

Sweetheart, nobody gives a shit about your tiny white ink infinity symbol/birds flying out of a feather/badly done Rihanna stars behind your ear. What we ARE judging you for is your constant whining and the fact you can't stay fucking still when the tattooist is trying to do their job.

For the record, I'm heavily tattooed with brightly coloured hair, and I can categorically state that nobody has ever looked at me funny or made offensive comments. Probably because they give precisely as much of a shit as I do Grin

Am enjoying this thread immensely as I am in total grumpy irrational hate-fucking-everything mode today.

Chris Martin gets right on my wick - no rational reason other than he comes across as unbearably smug and impressed by his own importance plus I think his music is utter shite. Also whenever I see his face I feel an urge to throw a large raw steak at his head because his vegetarianism annoys me. Am not at all annoyed by any other veggies out there so very aware this is completely irrational

SIL but that's for entirely rational reasons whole other thread entirely
